With one of his future college coaches watching Perry put together a dominant offensive performance shooting 10/17 from the field with six assists and no turnovers. One of the best point guards in Ohio, Perry has a strong natural feel for the game after being the leader of the Thunderhawks since his Sophomore season. Perry was living in the mid-range and got some friendly rolls on contested shots with his soft touch. Defensively, Perry was active with three steals and a couple of those immediately turned into layups for his team. Expect to hear a lot about Perry this season as he looks to lead Lakota East to the top of the GMC.

I consider the GMC the conference with the most depth of talent in Ohio. 8 of the 10 teams in the conference won double-digit games last season and everybody beats each other up in conference play almost every year. Perry led the conference in scoring by over 7 PPG last season and I’d expect him to again be in the 22-26 PPG mark as a senior. If Lakota East can end up winning the conference, I’d have to give strong consideration for Perry to be a finalist for Mr Basketball.

One of the most talented players in attendance, Perry was one of the most productive players I saw this weekend. With a great motor and a winning mentality he brings to every game, Perry was scoring the ball early and often thanks to turning turnovers into breakaway layups. Also a tough shot maker off the bounce, Perry was knocking down contested jumpers all over the court. A priority recruit for mid major programs across the region, Perry is one of the top point guards in Ohio.

One of Ohio’s top point guards, Perry showed exactly why he holds a handful of Division I offers on Tuesday night with a 33 point performance in an overtime victory over Oak Hills. Knocking down five 3-pointers, Perry did so in a variety of ways. Hitting two hand down, man down, 3-pointers sizing up his defender, Perry also knocked down a 3-pointer off a dribble handoff and a 25-footer running off a screen away from the hoop. Always been a tough defender and a great leader on the court, college coaches are going to love having Perry be a leader from the point guard position at the next level.

A prospect who really helped himself in the summer, Perry continues to perform each time he steps on the court no matter the competition. A leader on the court, Perry makes his teammates better as a passer and competitor that is infectious to the rest of his team. Continuing to grow as a scorer, Perry was third in the GMC at 18.5 PPG as a Sophomore and scored 20+ points in six of his last nine games. Becoming a priority for mid major programs, Perry holds offers from Furman, Miami (OH), Akron, Toledo, Bellarmine and Radford.

Midwest Basketball Club 16 U had a solid weekend going 3-4 and with a couple close losses that didn’t go their way in the end. Perry was a consistent performer all week and helped his team in a variety of ways. Adding to his scoring game, Perry is making moves to the bucket and changing directions to keep players off balance. His favorite move is a quick right to left between the legs crossover before Perry explodes to the rim with a quick layup with either hand depending on his footwork while attacking the rim. An impressive shot maker off the bounce as well, Perry was best from mid-range this week but also hit some 3-pointers as well. Defensively, Perry gets a couple buckets a game off just being smart with his gambles to get steals off careless passing or dribbling from the opponents. With offers from multiple MAC schools and a couple other low to mid major programs, Perry is one of the top point guards in Ohio’s 2025 class.
