Continue ReadingThe Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at Fishers High School nearly 200 of the states best Class of 2027 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to your high school career. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 13 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.
***With nearly 200 prospects at our event, our scouting staff (of three people) divided up the 20 teams to ensure that we could get evaluations of every player. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. Our staff watched each team they were assigned to for a minimum of one full game. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters as well. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and he will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase!***
#19 – Austin Perry Austin Perry 6'0" | SG Columbus North | 2027 IN – 6’0” SG – Columbus North
- Perry played really good minutes for his team and contributed in a major way. He will be a fun player to watch continue to develop over the years to come.
#111 –
Cooper Zachary

Zachary
5'10" | PG
Fishers | 2027
State
IN
– 5’8” SG – Fishers
- Zachary is one of the best point guards in the class, and he showed off his completely well-rounded game. He has great vision and can put a ball into any window. He can also score it from all three levels. Zachary is going to have a very bright future ahead of him.
#245 – Omkar Vaidya Omkar Vaidya 5'8" | PG Center Grove | 2027 IN – 5’7” PG – Center Grove
- Vaidya made some nice plays on the offensive end, and he looked to push the ball down the floor. His ball handling can use some improvement, but you can tell that he has bright spots in his game.
#550 – Antonio McFarland – 5’5” SG – North Central
- McFarland was a very good shooter who used his quick release to light it up from the outside. He did not create his shot much, but he was money when it came to the catch-and-shoot opportunities.
#593 – Jason Gardner – Fishers
- Gardner is the son of a former Mr. Basketball, and he has the skill set to be a Mr. Basketball winner of his own. He is the most explosive player in the class, and he showed that he can use his quickness and strength to get to the rim. Gardner is going to be a highlight waiting to happen for the next four years.
#612 – Reid Kaegi Reid Kaegi 6'1" | SG Crown Point | 2027 IN – 6’1” SF – Crown Point
- Kaegi is a strong wing who rebounded it well all day. He needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end of the floor, but he did show potential.
#627 –
Luke Sylvester

Avon | 2027
IN
– 6’2” SF – Avon
- Sylvester is a smooth wing who finished it well around the rim. The southpaw can score it from all three levels, and he is going to skyrocket if he can become more consistent.
#629 – Uriah Williams Uriah Williams 6'5" | SF Fort Wayne Wayne | 2027 IN – 6’3” PF – Fort Wayne Wayne
- Williams played some good minutes over the weekend, and he really helped his team win some games. Williams has a good future for an up-and-coming Fort Wayne Wayne program.
#631 – Devin Bolden Devin Bolden 6'6" | PF Cardinal Ritter | 2027 State IN – 6’4” PF – Cardinal Ritter
- Bolden is a big body inside, and he used his physicality and strength in the paint on both ends of the floor.
#773 – Carter Johnston Carter Johnston 5'11" | PG South Bend Adams | 2027 IN – 5’11” SG – South Bend Adams
- Johnston played good minutes for Team 13, and he knocked down some shots. He should play well in his future high school career.
