Continue ReadingPortland State held its annual individual Elite Camp on Friday, August 4, and we had the opportunity to drop by the Viking Pavilion to observe. Vikings head coach Jase Coburn and his staff spent some time teaching the game with drills before the participants hit the court for some 5-on-5 action. We’ve covered our First and Second Team All-Camp honorees; here’s a look at some of the other rising juniors who were in attendance.
Mason Bierbrauer Mason Bierbrauer 6'6" | PF Barlow | 2025 State OR (2025 Barlow) – Heavily considered for the all-camp teams. Was extra aggressive attacking the hoop and wasn’t afraid of physical contact, often drawing the foul. Pulled up for mid-range jumpers on occasion with success.
Brayden Barron Brayden Barron 6'6" | SF Barlow | 2025 State OR (2025 Barlow) – Made an impression with his length and athleticism, ran the floor well, and finished some plays in transition above the rim. Was able to create some havoc on the defensive end and served as a rim protector at times.
Jaylen Hill Jaylen Hill 6'5" | PF De La Salle North | 2025 State OR (2025 De La Salle North) – Played with passion, especially on the boards where he was likely one of the top rebounders in camp. Set up shop down low and was able to bully his way for some buckets. Ran the floor fairly well.
James Kefgen James Kefgen 6'2" | SG Liberty | 2025 State OR (2025 Liberty) – Didn’t get a ton of opportunities in this environment but made the most out of the ones he got. Knocked down some open jumpers, mainly on the catch and shoot from the corners.
Peyton Reyes Peyton Reyes 5'9" | PG Mountainside | 2025 State OR (2025 Mountainside) – High motor as always on both ends of the floor. Got loose in transition for a couple of layups but also hit a couple of open threes.
Jalen Snook Jalen Snook 5'9" | PG West Linn | 2025 State OR (2025 West Linn) – Handled the point when given the ball and balanced getting his own buckets and setting up others. Shot the ball well and overall played with effort.
Khaled Artharee Khaled Artharee 6'5" | SF Gresham | 2025 State OR (2025 Gresham) – Used his length and athleticism to make plays. Created well with the ball in his hands and finished fairly well at the cup. Good activity on the defensive end.
Evan Barham (2025 Scappoose) – Shooter with good looking stroke and release. Looked for room to spot up for the catch and shoot and knocked down a couple of jumpers.
Christian Crumble (2025 Grant) – Combo guard. Didn’t get many chances in the action we saw but played hard on both ends of the floor.
