After breaking down some intriguing point guard talent, it’s time to reveal my list of some highly impactful incoming freshman to keep an eye on. Without any further ado, here’s my list of five impactful 2027s to watch for on the court.
1. Caleb Rimmer Caleb Rimmer 6'4" | PF Russell | 2027 State KY – PF – 2027 – Russell (KY)
At the top of my list of notable performers is Caleb Rimmer Caleb Rimmer 6'4" | PF Russell | 2027 State KY , a 6-foot-4 power forward at Russell High School. In addition to outstanding size and speed, what made Rimmer such an explosive playmaker was his height, wingspan, near flawless shooting from around the perimeter and his physicality at the rim. Another aspect of Rimmer that caught my attention was his physical edge and his ability to overwhelm the other team on the defensive side with his blocking, rebounding and ability to reject players underneath the rim.

2. Tyce Jarvis Tyce Jarvis 6'5" | SG Montgomery County | 2027 State KY – SG – 2027 – Montgomery County (KY)
I was additionally impressed with Tyce Jarvis Tyce Jarvis 6'5" | SG Montgomery County | 2027 State KY , a 6-foot-5 shooting guard at Montgomery County High School. On top of his explosiveness down low, Simpson stood out due to his overall athleticism and well-balanced playstyle on both sides of the floor. What makes Simpson such an efficient weapon is his footwork and movement along the perimeter, contributing a strong shooting performance from beyond the arc as well as consistent passing to open teammates. Defensively, Simpson caught my attention with his ability to challenge the opposition underneath the basket.
3. Tyler Bartley Tyler Bartley 6'0" | SG Washington County | 2027 State KY – SG – 2027 – Washington County (KY)
Claiming the number three spot on my list of notable prospects is Tyler Bartley Tyler Bartley 6'0" | SG Washington County | 2027 State KY , a 5-foot-11 shooting guard at Washington County High School. Bartley caught my attention with his solid ball control and organization, proving his composure and smart decision-making even under heavy pressure from the opposing defense. I also liked Bartley’s durability and movement as he could find open space and maneuver the defense on his way to the rim with his durable edge. Bartley also showed off an impressive jump shot as well as a strong defensive effort on the other side of the floor.

4. Amare Stewart Amare Stewart 6'1" | SG Henderson County | 2027 State KY – SG – 2027 – Henderson County (KY)
Another high-level prospect to keep an eye on is Amare Stewart Amare Stewart 6'1" | SG Henderson County | 2027 State KY , a 6-foot-2 shooting guard at Henderson County High School. In addition to his versatility, solid ball control and quickness in transition, Stewart impressed me with his ability to drive to the rim, stun the defense with his smart passing and his ability to set picks for his teammates in the paint. Stewart also contributed on the opposite end with an outstanding defensive effort, consistently overwhelming the defense and forcing turnovers with his physicality and aggression.
5. Hayden Perry Hayden Perry 6'2" | SG Lawrence County | 2027 State KY – SG – 2027 – Lawrence County (KY)
Coming in at number five on my list of top standouts is Hayden Perry Hayden Perry 6'2" | SG Lawrence County | 2027 State KY , a 6-foot-2 shooting guard at Lawrence County High School. What stood out about Perry was his selfless playstyle, strong ball control and smart passing in the paint, proving he was an excellent support player. What I like about Perry’s playstyle is his game awareness and precise decision-making ability, showing off strong team contributions as well as smart shooting from both outside and inside. Perry also impressed me with his ability to pressure and disrupt passing on the other side of the court.
