The first time I ever watched Rimmer was a game he played against Boyd County, and his addition to their team helped push them over the top in the 16th region. On Thursday, Rimmer provided excellent energy, rebounding and defensive impact. Rimmer led the game with four offensive rebounds, tied a game-high with two steals and played tough defense.

Yet another impact transfer in the arms race between Ashland and Boyd, Rimmer moved to Boyd from Russell after averaging 15 points and 8 rebounds per game in his Sophomore season. Caleb is a bruising forward that should be hard to handle since defenses can’t double him and leave Spurlock or Payne uncovered.

One of the more effective bigs in the region, Rimmer is a big bruiser who has developed skills on the perimeter over his career but is still at his best around the bucket. Boyd has benefited from multiple transfers the last couple of seasons but Caleb may be the best high school player to enroll. He’s gone from being the best player at Russell to one of the best at Boyd.

Caleb is a 2 sport star who took most of the spring off from basketball. Rimmer has transitioned from being a big to being comfortable out on the wing over the last few years. While he has lost some teammates to transfer, Caleb has become one of the most valuable players in the 16th region and could be the regional player of the year as a Junior.

Caleb has transitioned out to the wing successfully over the last 2 years and still has his post moves that he can use against smaller defenders. Rimmer was left as the main scoring option at Russell after

I liked watching Russell compete starting three freshmen, while they struggled defensively to keep up with the fast-paced Boyd County offense, they showed a lot of promise and already hold some impressive wins. Scoring an and-1 layup off an offensive rebound on the first possession was a sign of things to come for Rimmer on Tuesday night. I liked that Rimmer attacked with his left hand and tried to finish with it. Rimmer also attempted a couple 3-pointers, showing some perimeter shooting potential, making one from the top of the key. I’ll be curious how Rimmer’s body develops over the next few years and if he continues to develop his ball handling. One of the more productive 2027 prospects in Kentucky right now.

Rimmer is a similar type of player to Wright as he’s at his best when posting up or facing up from the elbows and in. Caleb is averaging 14 and 8 for a Russell team that relies on their freshman class to carry a large burden for them to get a win.

Only a freshman, Caleb projects to be a big time player in the near future. He’s grown and starting to improve his skill level away from the bucket. Most importantly, Rimmer has a relentless motor. That alone helps him make this list and will be a top player in the area for the next 4 years.

Rimmer impressed at our Freshman Showcase and was named Most Outstanding Player for the event. He’s slotted in at sixth overall in this first round of rankings as he is in the midst of transitioning from playing as big spot to more of a traditional wing. Capable of bullying smaller defenders and getting to the rim, Caleb is still improving his ball handling and his perimeter shooting. Exciting to watch his development.
