College programs from the region would be wise to get eyes on him given his activity in the backcourt.

He’s a two-way guard with a knack for making his presence felt with his ability to get to the painted area and force turnovers defensively. DII programs in the region would be wise to get on him.

Best is a name that’s starting to find his own in North Carolina’s 2025 class at the combo guard spot. He’s shown he can play at a high level already after spending the year at Word of God. He’s a high-IQ guard who continues to impress with his ability to operate off the bounce and knock down shots in rhythm. As he shows off his defensive ability, look for D1 programs to jump all over him.

He’s an active combo guard who put up 15.5 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 3.0 APG and 1.3 SPG on 46 percent shooting from the field. He’s another name for DI programs in the region to get eyes on out of the Charlotte area. Western Carolina and Loyola (MD) have offered him.

Slay remains steady on the PH radar at the No. 3 spot in the 2025 combo guard ranks. He’s coming off a solid sophomore season that saw them make another state title game in 2022-23. He averaged 5.7 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 1.9 APG and 1.1 SPG this past season and is due to play a bigger role for his squad in the backcourt. Wake Forest, Marshall, Western Carolina, Charlotte and others have already offered him. Look for more schools to jump on him this season.

He holds a ton of offers from the likes of UVA, Georgetown, NC State, LSU, Virginia Tech and other D1 suitors given his ability to create out of the backcourt. He led the Spartans with 20.7 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 1.8 APG and 1.4 BPG on 53 percent shooting from the floor this past season and looks to do more damage. As he shows off his consistency on the perimeter, look for his stock to continue to rise in the class.
