-Sharpe filled his role as a big shot-taker and big shot-maker for a Reidsville team that really pushes the tempo at both ends of the floor. Although he showed that he can hit perimeter jumpshots throughout the course of the weekend, Sharpe got to the rim and finished through the contact in a big rivalry win over Farmville Central in a game where the gym was as intense as it gets in a big tournament. Although he doesn’t have the biggest frame, Sharpe plays with a toughness around the rim and at the defensive end of the floor that is hard to find.

Sharpe’s game was very sharp(e) this past Saturday in the 2A state championship game between his Reidsville team and their adversaries from Farmville Central – last year’s kings of the 2A realm. Sharpe played a major role in dethroning the Jaguars as he scored 29 points in an overtime classic which resulted in a 78-77 Rams victory. Sharpe displayed what he can do from behind the 3-point line as he made three of his six tries from distance. Close contests almost always come down to free throw shooting and Sharpe was clutch at the stripe as he was a perfect 10 for 10.

Sharpe is the top combo guard stock-riser to know as he moves from No. 21 into the 9th spot in the latest rankings update. He’s coming off a stellar state championship game which saw him finish with 29 points on 12 shots attempts and 10/10 from the FT line to bring home the 2A state title for Reidsville High. He’s due for a busy spring/summer on the recruiting trail as college coaches get eyes on him.
