Tayeshaun Smith Tayeshaun Smith 6’7″ | PF 1 of 1 Academy | 2025 State #252 Nation NC is a prospect in the state of North Carolina’s 2025 class with a ton of room to grow on the national scene this season. He’s capable of operating at either forward spot given his ability to operate alongside Gevonte Ware Gevonte Ware 6’9″ | C 1 of 1 Academy | 2025 State #150 Nation NC in the 1 of 1 Rare rotation as they’ve been a tough tandem to go up against. He recently earned an offer from Iowa University after his performance this past weekend in Virginia Beach. It’s certainly one that’ll turn heads in the recruiting world given Smith’s size and ability at the forward spot. HM programs should get eyes on him soon.
Wake Forest is the first HM program to offer Jaylen Cross Jaylen Cross 6’4″ | SG Caldwell Academy | 2025 State #168 Nation NC and it’s certainly warranted given his ability to operate off the wing at 6-foot-4. He’s a high-motor prospect that uses his athleticism in a variety of ways to blow by defenders and make things happen in the paint. Add to that his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter and block shots around the rim, he’s another prospect out of the Team CP3 fold that’s worth getting eyes on as evidenced by his first offer on the recruiting scene.
Trevor Best Trevor Best 6’2″ | CG Word Of God | 2025 State NC is an electric guard prospect to get to know in North Carolina’s 2025 class. He had a productive weekend in Virginia Beach with Team Wall and earned an offer from VCU and first-year head coach Ryan Odom in the process. He’s a guard prospect that plays with a ton of energy on both sides of the floor as a playmaker and defender on the floor. As he turns his skills into wins and leadership, look for his recruitment to grow as other Division I programs have already drawn interest.

Will James Jr Will James Jr 6’4″ | SG Holly Springs | 2025 State NC is a prospect out of Holly Springs High in the 919 area in the 2025 class that’s starting to draw the eyes of college coaches. He received his first Division I offer during the month of June from Radford University then followed that up by joining the fold with Team Curry on the UAA scene. He’s a confident wing prospect with the ability to get hot in a hurry from deep with a knack for also finishing around the rim. He’s got a college-ready frame that continues to develop as time goes on. HM and MM programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him.
Highlights
Kaden Hammond Kaden Hammond 6’8″ | PF The Burlington School | 2025 State NC has emerged as quite the anchor in the paint on the grassroots scene with Team CP3. He’ll look to translate that to his play with The Burlington School as his junior season approaches with the Spartans coming off an NCISAA State Championship. He’s a got a solid feel as a stretch-forward when needed and paint finisher when needed with solid mobility to do both and pose matchup problems in the process. He’s a name for LM and MM programs in the region to get eyes on along with DII programs as the fall season approaches.
