First Look at [player_tooltip player_id='1385301' first='JT' last='Pettigrew'] with Bolingbrook

After not playing last weekend, Bolingbrook's matchup with Young was the first time I saw the Raiders with [player_tooltip player_id='1385301' first='JT' last='Pettigrew'] suited up. He proved to be a big difference-maker inside early on with a couple big rebounds and a finish at the rim. I also got to see Pettigrew get other players involved and pick up a pair of assists too. Bolingbrook made things interesting against Young in the opening half with [player_tooltip player_id='1295497' first='Josh' last='Aniceto'] hitting a pair of three's and doing what he does best as a floor general. A put-back dunk and a half-court buzzer beater on the other side from [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'] tied the game up at halftime. The intensity of this matchup really picked up in the second half as teams continuously exchanged buckets. Everyone's been high on Bolingbrook 2027 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'], who showed excellent floor-general capabilities with superb ball-handling and quick passes. Bolingbrook used a big run Midway through the second half led by Pettigrew, Aniceto, and [player_tooltip player_id='1541243' first='DJ' last='Strong'] to put Bolingbrook ahead nearly double digits. Pettigrew displayed excellent footwork to get towards the rim and a nice touch around the basket for a few more points. It will be interesting to see how Bolingbrook progresses with him in the lineup.

Big Morning for [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz']

Whitney Young product [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'] had a terrific morning against Bolingbrook. Munoz had several big-time plays in this contest. Late in the first half, he went flying towards the rim for a put-back slam with one hand. Just a few minutes later, he threw up a half-court heave to tie the game even. Throughout the contest, Munoz was reading plays defensively to pick up a handful of steals while creating transition opportunities on the other end. He also showed tremendous speed up the floor and had a big chase-down block late in the game. In the final minutes, Munoz showed tremendous vision in transition to find an open teammate cutting towards the hoop. A minute later, he threaded the needle through the defense to pick up another big assist and make it a three point game. Free throws in the final seconds sealed a comeback win. Munoz has been very consistent for Whitney Young this live period and should be ranked towards the top in our upcoming rankings.

Intriguing Prospects to Watch on Lake Zurich, Glenbrook South

I got to see a handful of talented prospects I don't see very often in this matchup. The first name to stand out is [player_tooltip player_id='1750613' first='Nick' last='Popovic']h from Lake Zurich. The 6'2” combo guard knocked down a pair of catch-and shoot threes, while also showing a physical side of driving down the lane and scoring through contact in the opening minutes. He also hit multiple midrange jumpers later in the contest while leading all scorers with 26 points. Defensively, Popovich stands up to opponents well while fighting for lose ball and rebounds to take the other way [player_tooltip player_id='1766464' first='Anton' last='Strelnikov'] was a force in the post. He made things look easy down low and showed tremendous physicality to power his way to the hoop and hit contested close-range shots. He also converted all of his free throws. Defensively, he moves his feet well to block shots against driving opponents, while boxing out tremendously to accumulate many rebounds.

On Glenbrook South, Anestis Hadjistamou hit three triples early in the first half while also showing some nice ball-handling abilities as a point guard. He ended up hitting five triples and scoring 17 points. Down low, [player_tooltip player_id='1541233' first='Nick' last='Taylor'] isn't your prototypical forward. He's got a tremendous burst down the lane and went coast-to-coast for a layup to begin the second half. He also showed an ability to shoot from all three levels and make plays to his teammates throughout the game. Taylor really took over midway through the second half as he utilized his strength to get to the rim while converting an and-one opportunity. 2025 Forward Daniel Devine is another underrated prospect who displayed a smooth touch around the rim. Glenbrook South had a variety of other contributors in the contest to help pick up a 64-57 win.

OPRF Beats Rich Township

This was my first time looking at OPRF and they looked nothing but impressive to start. The Huskies stood out on both ends of the floor and had lots of contributors. 6'10” Center Alex Vincent was a physical presence on both ends. He also showed nice footwork in the low block to score inside. Forward [player_tooltip player_id='1766470' first='Alex' last='Gossett'] found plenty of consistency on offense. Flashing an ability to score from all three levels and finishing through contact. OPRF held a strong lead at halftime, but Rich crawled back in it. 2026 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1845352' first='Jamson' last='Coulter'] showed outstanding vision and explosiveness with the ball. He was stuffing the assist line and had some of the best speed and explosiveness I've seen from anyone this weekend. 6'7” F [player_tooltip player_id='1750703' first='Victor' last='Brown'] converted key plays inside and displayed plenty of athleticism with a pick-and-roll slam. Coulter hit two corner threes late in the game, but there wasn't enough time for a comeback. [player_tooltip player_id='1545121' first='Justin' last='Bowen'] allowed OPRF to pull away with come contested buckets at the rim and a pair of late free throws. The 6'6” forward scored 16 points to lead OPRF in the contest. [player_tooltip player_id='1845352' first='Jamson' last='Coulter'] also scored 16 points with a mecca of assists, rebounds and steals.
