Eli put together some solid games running with Northstar Titans over the weekend. With his long frame at 6'2, he was able to come up with a number of steals and deflections in the game I watched. He was working hard pressuring the ball and fighting to get over screens, and that defensive effort often turned into easy points on the other end. Three point threat in the half-court who did a nice job of moving without the ball to find pockets of space to catch and shoot.

Geek Squad may have surprised some people on Saturday night by keeping things close with a loaded RWE team for most of the game. A big reason why was the deep shooting range of [player_tooltip player_id='2632058' first='Karon' last='Shavers']. Going up against a team filled with D1 commits, including a pair of big time rim protectors, Karon's ability to stretch the floor helped open things up for his teammates. The first bucket of the game was a deep three from Karon, and shortly after he shot-faked before zipping it down low to a teammate for a dunk. Throughout the game Karon showcased a shifty handle and lightning quick release that allowed him to drain a few more threes.

Playing for a loaded [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] 17u team, Zare is taking on a much smaller role than he has with Racine Park. Despite this, we still got to see him in some extended minutes over the weekend, and he impressed in an opening game win against Northstar Titans. He showed just how versatile of a scorer he's become, hitting a three, a mid-range jumper, an and-one lay-up, and a transition dunk all in the first half. Zare did all that while constantly pressuring the ball out in the open floor. He's an explosive athlete at 6'3 who can simply make plays athletically that most high school guards can't.

[player_tooltip player_id='2814373' first='Cornell' last='Clark'] has been one of my favorite players to watch at the 16u level this spring. At 5'6 he's absolutely fearless attacking the basket. Against Geek Squad on Saturday he was turning steals into transition buckets, could score off the drive, and on one occasion even took a taller guard into the post and backed him down into a baby-hook shot. Early in the game he had already racked up three lay-ups, a three pointer, and a steal. He helped lead his team to a 3-1 record with their only loss coming by 3 against [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] EYBL.

Jayson got off to a hot start on Saturday morning against [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] EYBL. At 5'9 he was the smallest player on the floor, but immediately made his presence felt knocking down two threes and then getting to the rim for a tough left handed finish in traffic. Quick guard who was constantly moving without the ball trying to find pockets of space to catch and shoot. He's a streaky shooter who can get quiet for ten minutes, but then out of nowhere hit back to back shots to completely swing the momentum of a game.

Orlando is just on another level physically and athletically compared to most high school guards. He stands at 6'3, has some muscle on his frame, and can jump out of the gym when he gets downhill towards the basket. Even at 6'3 he changes direction incredibly quick when driving to the basket, and his ability to finish with either hand makes him difficult to predict. I saw him on Friday night against Northstar Titans, and he closed out the half with an impressive posterizing dunk right over a defender in transition. Nice looking guard prospect running with 88 West 17u.
