This past weekend at Run N Slam in Fort Wayne I focused on the 2029 prospects from the state of Illinois. Here I examine the 2029 Post Prospects at the event!

Zyler Mason ([program_tooltip program_id='2078448' first='Illinois' last='Wolves'])

The 6'7” post was one of the major names that emerged this past weekend. He goes to OPRF and is the son of former West Aurora wing Dameon Mason who played at Marquette and LSU. A lot to like here starting with the size and length. He high-pointed rebounds throughout the two games we saw. Rebounds well in his area on both sides. Fluid movements getting up and down the floor with ease. Excellent hands around the hoop and his passing was outstanding for a young big man making quick reads finding cutters and shooters. Defensively he blocked quite a few shots showing a good feel for it. Trending as one of the better 2029 post prospects early in the process.

[player_tooltip player_id='2935745' first='Jack' last='Haunty'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078448' first='Illinois' last='Wolves'])

Hinsdale Central 6'4” power forward is a thick bodied four that is crafty around the hoop. Elite offensive rebounder with his toughness. Shot fake into a floater, hoop shots, layup on a cut off ball, and finishes well through contact.

[player_tooltip player_id='2536509' first='Declan' last='Wilson'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''])

Really liked what we saw out of the Burlington Central 6'7” four man. Long and lanky power forward that is quick to the offensive glass. Finished out of the dunker spot. Soft touch was shown on hook shots and floaters. High pointed rebounds on both ends. Was outstanding defensively with his ability to protect the rim as a shot blocker and defending on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2835795' first='Frankie' last='Battaglia'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''])

Lake Park 6'5” power forward has good size and length with broad shoulders. Cut passing lane for a dunk on the other end. Solid mobility and is a quality passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='3472215' first='Zahari' last='Threatt'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

Really like where the game of this 2029 De La Salle power forward is trending. He continues to grow vertically, adding strength, and impacting on both ends. Plus shot blocker on the defensive end that does offensive damage around the hoop on put backs and playing off his athleticism. Solid passer as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2598486' first='Elijah' last='Codjoe'] (Zero Fears)

The Crete Monee big man has legit size and length up front at about 6'7”. Rebounds well in his area and is a tough defender. Plays physical around the hoop with the offensive game is still coming along.
