This past weekend at Run N Slam in Fort Wayne I focused on the 2029 prospects from the state of Illinois. Here I examine the 2029 Point Guard Prospects at the event!

[player_tooltip player_id='2940657' first='Duece' last='Johnson'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078448' first='Illinois' last='Wolves'])

Johnson has next up at Marist. The long and lanky 6'2” point guard is slick with the ball in his hands having wiggle off the bounce. Explosive burst with the rock in his hands. Soft touch finishing game around the hoop. Solid passing feel hitting cutters and making plays off live dribbles. Lead guard that rebounds well for his position and flies around on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2415762' first='Christian' last='Burge'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078448' first='Illinois' last='Wolves'])

Burge is a 6'0” 2029 point guard from Lake Park High School. Good athlete and the length plays on the defensive end. Sneaks in for put backs. Solid three point shooter especially spotting up.

[player_tooltip player_id='2446967' first='Drake' last='Cadle'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078448' first='Illinois' last='Wolves'])

Benet 6'0” point guard is a quality three point shooter that lets it fly with confidence. He also stood out playing in the open floor with his outlet passing, speed, and getting to the rim.

Darian Lopez ([program_tooltip program_id='2078448' first='Illinois' last='Wolves'])

Lopez is a 6'0” Rockford Guilford point guard that has plus length for his size and moves his feet on the defensive end. The lefty rebounds very well and is an adept finisher around the hoop on reverse layups and put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2862587' first='Dajuan' last='Brown'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''])

Brown is one of the more talented combo guards in the class. The Bradley Bourbonnais guard is a plus shooter especially from the corners off the catch. Slick ball handler that pushes in transition and has some passing flair in there.

[player_tooltip player_id='2886496' first='TJ' last='Jamison'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''])

Jamison is among the best prospects in the 2029 class. The Whitney Young combo guard has elite positional size at 6'4” which makes him impactful on both ends of the court. Defensively he uses his size and length to overwhelm smaller guards for steals. Slick ball handler that gets to the rim off the bounce with his size, strength, and crafty handles. Plus rebounder, passes on the move, and can play above the rim as he caught a lob on a baseline out of bounds play. Feathery stroke from beyond the arc off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2986698' first='Mason' last='Spicer'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''])

Whitney Young point guard is a southpaw who has had a solid spring. Connective passer that moves it in the half court. Moves his feet pretty well on the defensive end and has a nose for the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767906' first='Ronald' last='Johnson'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

Johnson showcased the well-rounded game the Mt. Carmel guard has become known for in the contest we caught. Strong lead guard with good size. Rebounds well for his position and puts pressure on the ball. Slick ball handler shown on a hesi drive where he completed an and-1 along with creating space on a step back three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918205' first='Keiwon' last='Gulley'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

Strong and compact lead guard is a monster on the defensive end with his stout frame and quick hands as he created multiple steals with his on ball pressure defense. Pitbull on the defensive end. He gets to the foul line and rack with burst off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918202' first='Kaden' last='McClellan'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

Very nice game on Sunday for the Bloom lead guard. Wiry point guard that impacted defensively with his quickness recording a handful of steals. Lived at the foul line with his speed and slick handle through traffic. Pushed in the open floor and showcased his ability to zip passes through traffic for dimes on the fly.

John Starks (Zero Fears)

Starks caught our attention as a 5'8” point guard from Homewood Flossmoor that can really go! The smaller guard makes up for it with burst to the rim, slick euro steps, and pure speed blowing past defenders. Advanced finishing game at a young age for his size. Solid passer that moves his feet on the defensive end.

Logan Redditt (Zero Fears)

The 5'8” guard put his name on the map with his burst to the rim. Crisp ball handler that gets to his spots including for pull up jumpers. Scrappy defender and solid passer.
