We have covered the Prep Hoops Windy City extensively but we wanted to empty out everything in the notebook with some more quick hitters here!

[program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons'] 2027 Under the Radar Wings

There are a couple of wings from the [program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons'] we haven't hit on yet. Whitney Young strong and stocky shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2532358' first='Zaire' last='Green'] is going to be a key piece for the Dolphins this season. Thick bodied guard that can play bully ball going downhill with strength. Rebounds extremely well for a guard. Capable spot up shooter. Julian wing [player_tooltip player_id='2490487' first='Torrey' last='Barrett'] is an underrated name that doesn't get the recognition he probably should. Wing who can knock down the long ball along with attack close outs with straight line takes.

More 2029 [program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'] Watch List Prospects

While we have not ranked the 2029 class yet we will be soon and these trio of Fire 15U prospects will definitely be making splashes in it! This was my first in person look at Phillips power forward [player_tooltip player_id='3472220' first='Ryan' last='Whitt']. The undersized lefty four is a junk yard dog that plays with a super high-motor. Finished out of the dunker spot on a regular basis with big slams. Ran the floor hard for buckets, hit the offensive glass, and showed he could knock in a mid-range shot. Broad shouldered well built power forward rebounds well in his area. On the defensive end he defended well in space being able to switch on the perimeter. Recorded several steals which ended up in points on the other end. DePaul Prep 2029 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2964015' first='Kumasi' last='Jones'] lit up the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase last fall. This was our first time seeing him since. Lead guard that plays with speed in transition getting to the cup with his creative layup package. Capable shooter that brings athleticism on the defensive end. Bloom guard [player_tooltip player_id='2918202' first='Kaden' last='McClellan'] is a slick ball handler that is so smooth getting wherever he wants on the floor. Passes well on the move and has a soft touch finishing game around the cup. Athletic defender including swatting a shot on a recovery.

Brad Beal Elite Upside Illinois 2029 Duo

BBE added a pair of highly touted prospects from Chicago for their 15U squad. [player_tooltip player_id='2767753' first='Isaac' last='Smith'] out of Chi-Prep is a mystery to many playing at a prep school that doesn't play many games in the area. We were intrigued during the season in what we did see. He has elite size, strength, and athleticism on the perimeter. No doubt the physical tools which was shown throwing down some massive dunks including one on a lob. Was at his best when attacking off the bounce and playing off his instincts on the offensive glass. Potential defensively blocking shots and getting steals. Struggled shooting it throughout the event. Leo big man [player_tooltip player_id='2964028' first='Elon' last='Henderson'] is among the top posts in the class. Thought he did a solid job on the glass in the games we saw snatching them in traffic on both ends and getting put backs. Finished on put backs and dump offs for most of his points. Flashed a hook shot. Potential on the defensive end. Both of these players are prospects that have some work to do, but long term are among the best in the Illinois 2029 class.

Notes on Intriguing Ranked Prospects from Windy City War

[player_tooltip player_id='2834463' first='Amari' last='Williams'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

Williams is the top post prospect in the 2028 class. The Shepard big man was a plus area rebounder that snatched boards at a high level throughout the weekend. Physicl frame that brings good athleticism on the glass. Offensively he is still developing. Best sealing and finishing off his guards at this stage.

[player_tooltip player_id='2499191' first='Rory' last='Haas'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2076264' first='Illinois' last='Central Elite'])

The Lake Forest small forward is a wing that is at his best when letting it fly from three. Threes off the catch and stop and pop mid-range jumpers. Connective passer that had some nice outlet dimes.

[player_tooltip player_id='3454823' first='Landon' last='Ray'] (Midwest Bobcats)

Ray's team struggled against a pair of EYBL teams, but the St. Viator wing is an intriguing small forward. He has quality size and three level scoring potential. Rebounds well for put backs. Crafty ball handler that can create his shot in the 15-18 foot range.

[player_tooltip player_id='3437783' first='Vincent' last='Allen'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'])

Another prospect I got my first in person look at. Our staff liked him at Unity during the season as his team provided some buzz mid-season. He is a rangy left handed power forward who is mobile around the hoop converting reverse layups and can handle it a little. Streaky shooter, but did knock one in the game we saw. His biggest value is probably on the glass and defensively especially with his switchability along with shot blocking.
