Dawson has had a relatively quiet last couple of months with the exception of a new offer from Miami (OH). Expect that to change in July. Vince seems to be playing his best basketball right now and just this past weekend was identified as a top performer at the live event in Sandusky. At 6’5 with great court vision, I’m not sure Dawson isn’t best suited as a point guard at the next level. Regardless, he could have a big July with the powerhouse Indiana Elite 2025 group.
Highlights
Coming out of April’s live periods, Finley opted to change AAU programs. As a result, he should have a much bigger role for July and have ample opportunity to show colleges the skills that have made him one of the top rising Juniors in Western Kentucky. The Calloway County point guard is another player who has had a good June at the scholastic live period events and is riding some momentum into July.
Rondon is another player who has switched programs and will look to lead Ohio’s Elite Mentality 16u to a productive July. Yamil is one of the better facilitating point guards in this 2025 class. As a result of playing for Cooper, he knows how to sit down and guard his position. On the offensive end, Rondon is a good driver and adequate shooter but is at his best as a table setter for teammates. He’s more Chris Paul than he is Ja Morant.
Josiah is often overlooked thanks to being on the loaded roster at Louisville Western. Lawson started most of the season for the Warriors and nearly averaged double figures while shooting over 40% from three. JoJo is becoming more of a passing point guard with the evolution of his game. Still more than capable of scoring, the 6’0 point guard is often at his best when he’s getting paint touches on offense and reading defenses.
Currently unranked (that will change with the next update), Combs is a big scoring guard who can get to the rim and finish through contact. This AAU season has been a productive one for Combs. He and his 2027 brother are likely to be the go to scorers for the Camels the next two years. If Jaidan can become a more consistent shooter from deep, he’ll be one of the more dangerous scorers in the 10th region this winter.
