Rondon is a natural point guard who has a great pulse of the game. He frequently found teammates for scoring chances. He reads and reacts to the game on the fly and can make a play in a blink of an eye. Rondon also impressed with his scoring burst. He got to different spots on the attack and has nice floor game. I like the tenacity he plays with on either end of the floor. Rondon was a threat to score from behind the arc. He would be a great fit at a scholarship level program or a prep school.

One of the top floor generals in Kentucky Rondon passes the ball at an extremely high level and on a team with as much talent as they have, it makes his life even easier out there. With some no-look or behind the back dimes that were flashy and drew wows from the crowd, it’s the simple quick decision making that can really stand out to me. As a scorer, Rondon also knocked down some rhythm shots as well. Very talented available 2025 point guard who I think college coaches will enjoy having on their team.

Rondon has made Newport better when he’s been on the court. He’s capable of guarding his position or scoring on the offensive end. He even has international experience. Could be a signing day steal.

One of the elite passing point guards in Kentucky, Newport has looked like a new team ever since Rondon got eligible after his transfer from Cooper. Playing with unique pace and patience, Rondon does an excellent job of manipulating the defense before throwing a lob to one of Newport’s bigs for a slam dunk. Rondon also can throw the no-look pass or bounce pass to thread the needle to teammates. Really fun watching Rondon operate for Newport as their half-court offense gets unlocked with him on the court.

‘s transfer to OTE from Newport. More of a pure point guard than Kinney was, expect Yamil to operate with the ball in his hands most of the time for the Wildcats. Don’t underestimate his impact and ability to replicate the stats that Kinney put up last season.

Newport got a big win over Lawrence North in their lone game of the day and Rondon impressed with his new team. Making the move from Cooper to Newport, Rondon is now a secondary ball handler but his passing ability is still incredibly useful for his team. Rondon made some sweet no-look passes to cutters and helped set up his bigs with alley oops and dump off passes. While his passing is the main way he impacts the game on this stacked roster, Rondon also can knock down perimeter shots as well. Never hurts to combine Division I talent with players who have an elite feel for the game like Rondon.

Rondon’s combination of athleticism, scoring, and playmaking is very impressive. He attacks the basket in transition and the half-court and can finish in traffic and through contact. He drains shots off the catch and dribble from mid-range and beyond the arc. His vision and passing ability create open looks for his teammates.

A second straight weekend where Rondon makes a Prep Hoops Circuit all tournament team. His ability to lead his team as the point guard with leadership and shot-making as made KY Rise a tough team to beat. Going unbeaten this weekend in Cincinnati, Rondon was impressive in both games we caught of his team.

One of just two teams to go 2-0 in the 17 U Division of the Queen City Clash on Saturday, Ky Rise showed a lot of potential. Rondon was dominant in the second half of their 10 point win over Charging Elite. The game changed when Rondon was put in the middle of the zone and his teammates got him the ball in the teeth of the defense and watched him go to work. With soft touch in the paint and the confidence to hit bank and mid-range shots, Rondon diced up the zone defense when he caught it in the middle. Once he gained that confidence, you saw Rondon hit shots like a DHO 3-pointer off a BLOB, a slow euro-step finish and a rhythm pull-up off the bounce. For defenses, don’t let Rondon see one or two go in the hoop, he might break out for another six or seven buckets if you aren’t careful.
