Maybe the biggest late season stock riser, McClure had an amazing Sophomore season and was incredible in Westerville South’s district championship run. A talented scorer, McClure has taken strides as a shooter and a ball handler after playing a complimentary role as a Sophomore. His production took a huge spike as McClure averaged 16.8 PPG and knocked down 51 3-pointers. Showing more polish as a finisher with both hands, McClure doesn’t get sped up when attacking. Defensively, McClure also shines with quick feet and a body that doesn’t get pushed around. With 76 steals as a Sophomore, McClure was giving opposing ball handlers fits with his defensive activity. I expect college programs to get to know McClure very soon as they can catch him with Ohio United’s 16 U squad or with Westerville South in June.
Highlights
Perry played up last summer on the Adidas 3SSB 16 U circuit and it seems to be paying off this summer as he’s going against competition his own grade. This comes after Perry finished third in the GMC in both scoring and assists as a Sophomore. A tough guard, Perry is going to be a favorite of college coaches simply because of his competitiveness and skill level. One of my favorite players in the 2025 class to watch, Perry is a name for college programs to keep an eye on this summer.
Another Cincinnati area guard, Williams had some impressive moments for one of the top teams in southwest Ohio as a Sophomore. A guy who helped Elder get into their offense, Williams plays with poise beyond his years. An impressive defender, Williams has long arms and the quickness to stay up tight on opposing ball handlers. I expect a significant leap in scoring as a Junior with Elder graduating a majority of their leading scorers. Check him out with Midwest Basketball Club’s Gold 16 U squad.
A two-sport stud, Griffin is likely going to be a football prospect when it’s all said and done but don’t let that distract you from his potential on the hardwood. The undersized guard is one of the quickest and most explosive athletes in the 2025 class with the shooting ability to get hot from the outside in a hurry. Undersized guards thrive in up and down tempos and the Columbus City League style suits his game perfectly. One of the more exciting players in Central Ohio’s 2025 class, fans should check Griffin out on the hardwood next season.
