As the summer is itching forward and seniors are beginning to fully commit to their schools for next year. For this series of articles, I will be taking a look into each conference to see where some seniors are headed to play. These might not be everyone playing at the next level, these are guys who have announced it.

[player_tooltip player_id='1416282' first='Mathew' last='Storms'] - Sehome HS

Storms is a talented lefty who was apart of a 3 headed monster for the Mariners. He drives to the basket well, being very aggressive and using his body to his advantage. He has a nice pull jump jumper and three point shot as well. Mat will be staying local and attending Western Washington University.

[player_tooltip player_id='1417280' first='Grey' last='Garrison'] - Sehome HS

Grey has a huge ceiling on the court. He is still growing into his body by adding more weight and becoming faster. He hits the deep shot very well and moves with and without the ball better than most guys his size. He has some good strength underneath the hoop as well. Grey will be headed to Oregon State as a preferred walk-on.

[player_tooltip player_id='1580918' first='Mathew' last='Russ'] - Blaine HS

Mat was a big reason why Blaine was able to have their best finish in the state tournament in 20 years. Russ helped lead the Borderites to a 3rd place finish and that was mostly with his ability to get downhill. He was a threat with the ball at all times and has the speed to blow by opponents or use his strength to out-muscle them. Russ is taking his talents to Skagit Valley CC.

[player_tooltip player_id='1416315' first='Carson' last='Lehnert'] - Blaine HS

Another big reason why Blaine did so good was due to the shooting and defense of Lehnert. Carson moves very well without the ball and knows where to find his spots on the court. He utilizes screens very well and is one of the best catch and shoot shooters the NWC has had in some years. He is headed up to Canada to play collegiate basketball with Douglas College.

[player_tooltip player_id='1587990' first='Lucas' last='Smith'] - Blaine HS

The last of the three headed monster for Blaine was [player_tooltip player_id='1587990' first='Lucas' last='Smith']. Lucas is a shifty 6'4" point guard who can find his spots and his teammates nicely. He attacks the ball well with either hand and can hit the outside shot steadily. Smith will be headed to Prestige Worldwide Sports Academy in Florida.

[player_tooltip player_id='1440573' first='Blaine' last='Granberg'] - Burlington-Edison HS

Blaine is a player who gives it his all every time on the court. He is aggressive on the drive and isn't afraid to go up strong against anyone. He plays fantastic defense, moving his feet very well. He hits his deep shots consistently and is a threat in transition. Granberg is headed to Northwest Nazarene University

[player_tooltip player_id='1587988' first='Kyle' last='Heaton'] - Squalicum HS

Kyle is a player who played out of position in high school. He has great size standing at around 6'4" and is athletic. He runs the court very well and knows how to fill lanes correctly. He hits the deep shot well but could improve. He is going to benefit playing more of his natural position next year, at Whatcom CC.

[player_tooltip player_id='1382646' first='Ashton' last='Engelhart'] - Squalicum HS

Ashton is very much one of the top deep shooters in the entire conference. He has a quick release and moves off the ball well. He has improved his defense quite a bit, being able to stay aggressive and move his feet quickly. After he starts to handle the ball more and facilitate to his teammates, which I know he can do effectively, he will dangerous on the court. Ashton will be attending Whatcom CC next year.
