Carson is a player who we haven’t been able to watch over the summer play AAU or even summer league action with Blaine. Lehnert is a great shooter, one of the best three point snipers in the NWC. He runs the floor well and can score at all 3 levels, excelling in the mid-range or from deep. On defense, his long arms are a problem for the opposing teams every game, as he can fill the passing lanes with ease. He’s been recovering from a back injury, taking it slow in recovery so he can be fully healthy for his senior year. He is betting on himself to show off what he can do, and I think he’ll do an amazing job.

If you have read my past articles, you know that I am high on this kids game. He’s had a frustrating off-season, dealing with injuries and missing some games and tournaments. He should be good to go for the season. What he brings is a shooter, with in the gym range. He’s also developed a nice mid -range game that he uses when teams run at him. He can score around the basket with his size and length, and finishes well on the break. He’s capable of putting up huge numbers and should have a breakout season.

Give me a knock down shooter. I have one right here. He can stretch the floor as my two guard, which is a necessity on my team. You cannot leave him or he will make you pay. Although it’s not that easy. He works at his game, knowing this will happen. He makes adjustments and has a great mid-range game. When I think shooting guard, I think of him. He’s also 6’4, long, and will offer up his game at another level this year. The light is always green! Only senior on my West team.

Here’s a kid that probably wouldn’t be bothered if the three point line was moved back to NBA range. When you watch film on him, you notice that a good portion of his treys are well beyond the arc and he shoots it at a high percentage. He’s put in countless hours to make himself a good shooter. The result is that he’s a great shooter with game changing range. He has had a tough off-season, dealing with injury but he’s back at it and ready to go. Even more impressive about his game, is his ability to score off the dribble, something that is usually the last to come for shooters. Some players are satisfied that they are able to drop 30 footers with ease. Others work hard to make themselves better in all aspects. He has chosen the latter and that’s what makes him one of the players I am most excited to follow next season. To see the results of hard work and the progression of a kid that is a bit of a late bloomer. That’s fun to me. If I could get players to understand how much better they will be, I’d be happy. Most will learn themselves.
