The 3A tournament came down to a pair of Metro League teams that knew each other quite well, battling each other three times throughout the regular season and league playoffs. With the game separated by just two points heading into the final quarter, the Garfield Bulldogs pulled away from the O'Dea Fighting Irish to win the 3A state championship. It capped off a tremendous tournament full of upsets, overtimes games, and a handful of takeover performances from some of the top players. Now that it's over, let's go back and name some of the top players from the week with the Prep Hoops All-Tournament teams.

Smiley was the top scorer and most reliable offensive weapon for the champion Bulldogs throughout the tournament. It all culminated in a monster 30-point performance in the title game when he went 10-for-14 from the field and looked like a man who couldn't miss.

[player_tooltip player_id='1416316' first='Parker' last='Baumann'] | Shorecrest - 21.7 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 2.7 apg, 46% FG

The first team all-tournament begins with Eastern Washington commit, [player_tooltip player_id='923132' first='Mason' last='Williams']. He was a crucial figure for O'Dea, coming up in big moments to hit shots or get to the line, and was one of the top defenders in the tournament. The third-place Mt Spokane Wildcats sport two first-teamers in [player_tooltip player_id='1450491' first='Ryan' last='Lafferty'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1391705' first='Maverick' last='Sanders']. These two carried the Wildcats offensively, combining to take 92 shots in the tournament, and yet were still efficient from the field with defenses keying in on them. [player_tooltip player_id='1416286' first='Tyrell' last='Nichols'] was a huge source of production for the fifth-place Trojans, running the point, scoring, rebounding, and playing tough defense at the point of attack. The first team rounds out with Baumann. His Scots didn't place in the tournament but there is no denying the impact he had in willing them to a big win over Rainier Beach, and a close quarterfinals matchup with the eventual champs.

2nd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='923128' first='Jaylin' last='Stewart'] | Garfield - 10.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.3 apg, 2 spg, 1 bpg

[player_tooltip player_id='1270842' first='Emmett' last='Marquardt'] | Garfield - 9.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg

[player_tooltip player_id='1439541' first='Miles' last='Clark'] | O'Dea - 10.7 ppg, 6 rpg,, 1.3 bpg, 58% FG

[player_tooltip player_id='1450496' first='Luvens' last='Valcin'] | Auburn - 12.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.3 spg, 47% FG

[player_tooltip player_id='1450489' first='Zaveon' last='Jones'] | Mountlake Terrace - 15.3 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 54% FG, 10/11 FT

The 3A champion Garfield Bulldogs had one of the deepest teams at the tournament and it shows with two more players landing on the second team all-tournament. Star player [player_tooltip player_id='923128' first='Jaylin' last='Stewart'] didn't have the offensive impact he normally does, but his impact was felt nonetheless with big defensive numbers, playmaking, and the ability to draw multiple sets of eyes from the defense. [player_tooltip player_id='1270842' first='Emmett' last='Marquardt'] was a beast on the glass and nearly averaged a double-double, while also knocking down key shots from the outside to help clinch the title. O'Dea's [player_tooltip player_id='1439541' first='Miles' last='Clark'] was ultra-effective from the field and used his length to disrupt shots on the other end. [player_tooltip player_id='1450496' first='Luvens' last='Valcin'] was one of the more exciting players in the tournament and showed no fear going to the rim no matter who stood in his way. Finally, Mountlake Terrace's undersized big man, [player_tooltip player_id='1450489' first='Zaveon' last='Jones'] came up huge in their first two games, nearly leading the Hawks over O'Dea in the quarterfinals.

3rd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1436196' first='Myles' last='Daymon'] | Garfield - 9.7 ppg, 2 apg, 1 spg, 71% FG, 7/10 FT

[player_tooltip player_id='923119' first='Sherrell' last='McCullum Jr.'] | Garfield - 10.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.3 bpg, 72% FG

[player_tooltip player_id='1617873' first='Brady' last='Kageyama'] | Bellevue - 14.3 ppg, 3 rpg, 1 spg, 11/25 3PT, 10/14 FT

[player_tooltip player_id='1450563' first='Jaxon' last='Dubiel'] | Mountlake Terrace - 13.7 ppg, 5 rpg, 2 spg, 1.7 bpg, 5/11 3PT, 8/12 FT

[player_tooltip player_id='1560528' first='Keaine' last='Silimon'] | Shorecrest - 13.3 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 3 apg, 1 spg

Efficiency is the key for the first two names on our third team. [player_tooltip player_id='1436196' first='Myles' last='Daymon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='923119' first='Sherrell' last='McCullum Jr.'] made the most of their touches for the champs, helping to spread the load offensively and make the Bulldogs tough from start to finish. Bellevue had some slower offensive games but [player_tooltip player_id='1617873' first='Brady' last='Kageyama'] stepped up in key moments to help lead the Wolverines to a round-of-12 comeback win and a fourth-place finish. One of the more impressive defenders from the week, [player_tooltip player_id='1450563' first='Jaxon' last='Dubiel'], made play after play for the Mountlake Terrace Hawks who by all accounts, should be back even stronger next season. Then there is [player_tooltip player_id='1560528' first='Keaine' last='Silimon'], who ended the season on a roll with Shorecrest and took that momentum into the state tournament to make sure the Scots gave their opponents everything they had.
