Victory Christian Academy rallied from a 4-point deficit in the final 30 seconds to win 66-63 behind a big second half performance by junior guard Lorenzo “LJ” Cason’s 31-point performance. Prep Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek was in attendance for the game and here are his five standouts from the game.
The 6-2 junior point guard had a monster second half scoring 20 of his 31 points in the second half, including the game-winner with 1.5 seconds left to put Victory Christian Academy up 64-63. He also added 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the win, as well as knocking down a pair of free throws in the end to seal the win for his team.
Highlights
The 6-0 junior point guard added 14 points of his own, including a pair of 3-pointers in the second half to spark the win for Victory Christian Academy. Andino was also perfect from the free throw line and was sensational when it came to attacking the basket. On the defensive side he was a hard-nose rebounder going against 6’6 junior Ace Taylor Ace Taylor 6’4″ | SF Calvary Christian | 2024 State FL battling for the basketball.
Prior to the game tonight, the 6-1 junior guard was honored by reaching the 1,000 point milestone earlier in the season. Tonight he finished with a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds in tonight’s 66-63 loss to Victory Christian Academy.
The 6-6 junior small forward added 17 points of his own, as well as adding 7 rebounds and 3 steals in tonight’s 66-63 loss to Victory Christian Academy. Taylor turned his defensive skills into offense and had a breakaway dunk that ballooned their lead in the third quarter.

The 6-2 sophomore guard was all over the floor tonight getting deflections which led into steals. He had just 6 points, all of them in the second half but he added four steals and was making hustle plays throughout the night. His energy and kick aheads to Cason provided a huge spark in the Victory Christian Academy rally late in the game.
