NorCal went 3-0 against the out of town group, but all games were close, exciting and could have went either way. Standouts from the 7 games were
Omari Staples Jr 6’4 2023 Forward from Oakland Tech
The dual sports athlete is headed to Stanford to play football. He plays physical using his body and strength in the post to move people out of his way. He has good balance playing well off two feet in the paint, he had a couple of dribble drive spins move from the high post to the basket for points. He’s strong on the boards, hard to move when he plants himself. He had good passing including the outlet pass. 13pts, 5rebs.
Jayden Teat Jayden Teat 6'3" | CG Capital Christian | 2023 State CA-N 6’3 2023 Combo Guard from Capital Christian
He’s one of NorCal’s top unsigned 2023 prospects. He has the tools to play either guard position, but might be better suited looking to be an aggressive scorer when he has the ball. When he’s locked in without hesitation he can put points on the board. He’s a 3 level scorer, that comes at you hard, he’s tough to deal with in transition. He scored 15pts, dropped a couple of 3’s.
Kellen Hampton Kellen Hampton 6'7" | SF Southern California Academy | 2025 #120 Nation CA-S 6’7 2025 G/W/F from Moreau Catholic
He has the size and the tools to play positions 1-5 at this level. He’s doing a lot of handling up top, initiating the offense, handling to create scoring opportunities for others, and using screens to free himself up for what ever shot he’s going to take, it could be a step back that goes in, or he’ll pull-up from 3 off the dribble. He’s getting a bit stronger taking on contact in the paint. He makes his free throws. His rebounding numbers are goingup, he had 16pts, 9rebs.
Keyon Kensie Keyon Kensie 6'7" | SF Taft | 2023 State CA-S Jr 6’8 2023 G/F/W from Taft
He’s a long wiry prospect with a good all-around set of skills to use in different areas on the court. He handles like a guard creating his shots. He made tough shots using a dribble or two to get a jumper off with a hand in his face. The lefty dropped a couple of corner 3’s in the crunch. His size, and balance allowed him to use a spin move off the dribble to get into the paint and shoot over defenders.
Jackson Shelstad 6’1 2023 Guard from West Linn, Oregon.
There’s a reason why Shelstad is going to Oregon. He’s a top notch guard who can run a team. He plays to his strengths and knows what they are. He’s a shot maker who can get his shot any time, and where he wants it at this level. He doesn’t take bad shots, and doesn’t miss to many. Put the ball in his hands late and he’ll make the right decision. 20pts, key buckets late in the game.

Often times, young prospects in the 2025 class struggles with consistency or in a game. Rencher didn’t play his best, at this event he had 13pts, 6rebs, 2blks. He didn’t give up, he continued to find ways to battle through his struggles. He’s a rising prospect with multiple DI offers. He has the tools, and the ability to play at the next level with continued development. He can effect the game on both sides of the court.
Tounde Yessoufou Tounde Yessoufou 6'6" | SF St. Joseph (Santa Maria) | 2025 State #20 Nation CA-S 6’6 2025 W/F
Yessoufou is the top ranked 2025 player in the nation. He’s putting up monster numbers at this level, double figures in scoring and rebounding, 27.5pts, 11.4rebs, 3asts, 3blks. He’s physically fit to dominate games at times, almost to easy. He continues to show why he’s on top. He scores in different ways, often using his jumping ability in the post to rise higher for the shot. He’s knocking down the 3 and his ability to create off the dribble are moving forward. 27pts, 4rebs, 4asts, 4stls.
