Games I Attended

Parkview (58) vs Buford (56)

Parkview escaped with a 2-point win over Buford at the Jared Cook Tip-Off Classic. [player_tooltip player_id='1444779' first='Jacob' last='Wilkins'] was the story in this one, finishing with 27 points on a handful of highlight dunks and three-pointers. Buford kept it interesting and had a shot to win it at the end but [player_tooltip player_id='1453932' first='Adonai' last='Mussie'] came up with huge back-to-back blocks at the buzzer to win the game for Parkview.

Grayson (66) vs Etowah (53)

Etowah fell to Grayson as they navigate the gnarly front end of their schedule. The Eagles played a great first half, getting Grayson's bigs into foul trouble and taking a 3-point lead into the locker room at halftime. However, [player_tooltip player_id='1131772' first='CJ' last='Hyland'] got hot later in the game, going for 17 second-half points and guiding Grayson to the win.

Denmark (50) vs Mt. Vernon (47)

Denmark took home the win in an overtime thriller Tuesday at the Jared Cook Tip-Off Classic. Mt. Vernon struggled shooting the three in the first half and couldn't get much going inside either, largely because of [player_tooltip player_id='1530985' first='Keinan' last='McFarlande']'s interior defense. Pace Bottoms hit 3 clutch free throws for Mt. Vernon to send it to overtime but Mt. Vernon ultimately prevailed.

Greenforest (69) vs Etowah (41)

Greenforest's size proved to be too much to handle for Etowah, especially with [player_tooltip player_id='873083' first='Mason' last='Etter'] sidelined for injury. It was a balanced attack for Greenforest with a lot of their points coming from behind-the-arc surprisingly. [player_tooltip player_id='820301' first='DK' last='Manyiel'] led Greenforest in scoring with 18. [player_tooltip player_id='1063051' first='Dimitri' last='Angelakos'] was a bright spot for Etowah, hitting 5 threes on the night.

Buford (80) vs Grovetown (56)

After starting the year 0-2, Buford came out Tuesday looking like a completely different team. Their confidence and energy set the tone from the tip. Seniors like [player_tooltip player_id='1337715' first='David' last='Burnett'] and [player_tooltip player_id='820320' first='London' last='Williams'] stepped up on the big stage and showed no signs of hesitancy. The Wolves shot it extremely well from deep, connecting on 15 threes in the game. [player_tooltip player_id='1337715' first='David' last='Burnett'] was a standout on both ends and led Buford with 19 points.

Milton (59) vs North Gwinnett (47)

The combination of [player_tooltip player_id='1383022' first='Josh' last='Dixon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='820284' first='Seth' last='Fitzgerald'] proved hard to defend as they combined for 43, scoring consistently through all 4 quarter. Dixon led the way with 23 and hit some really tough shots from all over the court. [player_tooltip player_id='1589294' first='Caleb' last='Jones'] played well in the loss for North Gwinnett and is an incoming transfer from Florida that you'll want to keeps tabs on.

Cumberland Christian (73) vs Solid Rock (66)

Despite a valiant 4th-quarter effort from Solid Rock, Cumberland Christian hung on to get the win. [player_tooltip player_id='1607579' first='Max' last='McNeill'] showed an impressive offensive skillset and led Cumberland Christian with 26 points. Tito Majok from Solid Rock was a lot to handle around the rim and finished with a game high 33 points.

Pace (79) vs Decatur (45)

Pace ran away with the win over Decatur in a game that was never very competitive. [player_tooltip player_id='996829' first='Kyle' last='Greene'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1383030' first='Eric' last='Chatfield'] both played well in Pace's backcourt and combined for 40 of Pace's 79 points. Greene showed a polished all-around game while Chatfield connected on 6 threes. The sophomores Chandler Bing and [player_tooltip player_id='1589322' first='Jackson' last='Ferry'] look to be developing quickly as well.
