For a while Shrout was our highest ranked player without a Division I offer but now holds offers from Belmont, Wright State, Toledo, Ohio, IPFW and Akron. Shrout proved he is an elite scorer with efficient stats on the EYBL 16 U circuit this spring. Shrout plays bigger than his listed height, and will likely need to defend players taller than him based on his foot speed at the next level. Shrout is crafty with the ball and uses pump fakes and change of direction to keep defenders off balance with the threat of his outside shot always there as well.
Burris replaced Shrout as the top ranked player without a Division I offer for about a month and now programs are starting to realize just how talented Burris is with recent offers from MAC powerhouses Akron and Ohio. Burris has really improved as a 3-point shooter and is a dynamic scorer in the half-court. Burris fits the cliché of a white prospect being sneaky athletic but even I sometimes get surprised by Burris’ explosive athleticism. Expect Burris to continue to attract mid major interest and offers within the next 12 months.
One of the bigger sleepers in the 2024 class, Duncan Moy Duncan Moy 6’4″ | SG Joseph Badger | 2024 State OH is a prospect everybody needs to know about. Moy is one of the best passers in the 2024 class from Ohio and always makes some highlight plays when I catch him. Moy was a prospect who stood out during the high school season with Warren G Harding (he transferred back home to Badger this summer) but took his game to the next level for OBC this summer. I expect Moy to have low to mid major offers this time next year.
Goodman is a specialist in the best way as his shooting ability at his size is rare. Most non Division I programs don’t offer players until the spring headed into their senior year but recent NAIA champion Shawnee State already pulled the trigger on Goodman. I love Goodman’s ability to move off the ball and his size and length gives him the potential to improve as a defender throughout his college career. Goodman should get the opportunity to expand his on-ball game with Olentangy Berlin this winter and gear up for the crucial spring/summer headed into a prospect’s senior season.
