Burris is the senior leader for the Hayes Pacers this season and he has led them further than any else has. He was really good in the regional finals game against Orange. I was really impressed with his finishing ability around the rim. He used his length very well in jumping into contact but finishing his shot around them. He got the rim often and did not settle for his jumper. He was playing hard and hustled all game. Burris played a big role defensively as well. He wanted to win this game and had 16 points in this game.

The top seeds turned district final Saturday into blowout city with Delaware Hayes jumping all over Walnut Ridge and cruising to a double-digit win after leading by around 20 points most of the second half. It was the Ohio Bobcat commit Burris who helped them gain that lead with a huge first half. Burris had a couple dunks in the first quarter including a dump off and a leak-out. One thing Delaware Hayes does as good as anybody in the state is throw the ball ahead after rebounds and steals, they got at least 10-12 points off impressive lead passes to guards streaking down the court. Burris also hit a circus shot at the first quarter buzzer, giving the Pacers a boost of momentum that they ran with. Delaware Hayes is peaking at the right time and have the talent to make it out of this loaded region.

Burris is the other side of the mismatch nightmare Delaware Hayes presents to opposing teams. He is just a big guard who has next-level size and athleticism. There is no real stopping Burris from scoring and getting his. With Vanderwalker taking some big wings off of him it creates a mismatch against most teams. He is the senior leader of this team. The team leans on him when they need him and he leads by example. He has been here and done that in every game. He is vital for this great Hayes team.

Burris is a really good basketball player. Rather simple, because his game is so simple. His touch and pull in the midrange is great. He is super efficient on offense. His ability to shoot the ball off the dribble is next level. He is really athletic. He can simply do it on both ends. He is looking to have a strong senior campaign before taking his talents to Athens.

Burris is an incredible talent who is committed to Ohio University and will provide athleticism, shooting and high IQ play at the wing position to the MAC. One of the top players in central Ohio, Burris will be a must watch prospect this winter.

Another statement showing came from Burris as he absolutely took over the second half against Sandusky and put on a show in front of a couple Buckeye coaches. Burris got scorching hot from long range and racked up the points in a hurry. With his calm demeanor, Burris never gets too high or too low and is a killer on the court. His athleticism pops when he’s able to explode off two feet and he almost dunked on a defender and also threw down some transition slams. Burris is one of the top players in Ohio and with a supporting cast that can knock down open shots, expect Delaware Hayes to be in contention for a district title once again when the playoffs come around.

and Midwest teammate Trent Noah, Burris has been a standout against higher level competition. With his impressive performances, I expected there to be more recruiting buzz around Burris this spring. So far Radford is the only new offer for Burris after he gained Miami (OH), Ohio and Akron last summer. If Burris continues to play at this level during July there should be more low to mid major schools throwing their name in the hat for his talents.

Something I love about AAU is seeing how players can adjust to a team and a new role. Burris does a very nice job at transitioning into a secondary/third scoring option at points along with being perfectly fine without scoring. At Delaware Hayes, he is almost required to drop 20 points or more for them but for Midwest, he is a patent attacker that shows flashes of his great scoring but never forced anything. He was an efficient scorer. Showed off a great Mac to the basket game along with confidence in scoring at all 3 levels. A long player with sneaky-good athleticism. He dunked on someone off a backdoor cut. I am a big fan of

Burris knows that basketball always has and always will be about getting buckets because this kid does it at a high level. He consistently takes and makes contested shots. His height and athleticism helped him get open. Mid-range scorer. Gets to his spot whenever he wants. Never gets knocked off his path. Understands what foot to attack and angles. Can go either way and hit shots but mainly goes left for his pull-up. Showcases really good footwork. Comfortable with his back-to-the-basket game. He is a high-volume shooter and scorer. He displayed good touch around the rim as well. Burris is going to get 18 or more points regardless of every game. No real stopping him.
