Many of the tops name from the class come from the 206 to the 253 and not only project to be top players, but members of some of the top teams in the area as well. From Seattle to Tacoma, here are five of the top names highlighting the 2025 class.
No. 1 | Kaupanger has been one of the top 2025s since last season and continues to show one of the brightest futures in his class. The kid is driven to succeed, and you can see it in how he plays the game. He’s not a player who leans solely on his scoring ability. Rather, he grinds to get second chances on offense and matches his offensive output with his defensive effort. He leaves it all on the court and continues to put in the extra time to further his development.
No. 2 | Smiley already came in and played key minutes last season when expectations were sky high for the Garfield Bulldogs. This coming winter, he’ll be asked to take on an even larger role, most likely starting or as a sixth man. He has great size and athleticism at the guard spot and is also going to be a key guy spacing the floor for the Bulldog attack. With most of the focus going to some of the other high-profile Bulldogs, Smiley could have some big games next season and will force defenses to make some tough decisions.
Highlights
No. 3 | I love the length and shooting Varani possesses on the perimeter. Although he might not have had the impact last season that other guys on this list had, Varani is a player I could see bursting out in the second half of the season. Shooting plays, and once Varani gets used to the speed and physicality of varsity ball, he should be able to become more of an asset on defense too.
Highlights
No. 4 | This next player is one of the most mentally prepared players from the 2025 class. He played crucial minutes on a squad that made a run to the state title game and is prepared to lend an even bigger hand in the coming year. Robinson returns to a team that lost 8 of 12 varsity players from last season. He’s going to have a big job ahead of him, but Robinson plays with a cool head and great energy. It will be fun to watch him take off this winter.
No. 5 | Harshman is another player who brings a calm demeanor to the court. He’s a heady player who relies on his ability to read the game and act before other players can see the whole picture. He’s been on a good run this summer and looks just as confident as ever. Harshman will be a key member of the Annie Wright Gators as they forge ahead as state title hopefuls.
