Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
King had a nice game against Sammamish dishing the ball and finding guys underneath the rim with his ability to see over the top of the defense. But even with him facilitating and looking to make the extra pass, he still showed he’s got some incredible shot-making that can pop at any time. He used several ways to get to his spots and drain shots along the perimeter, hitting in the pick and pop, using pumps quickly off the catch to get by his man and hit one-dribble pull-ups, or using his height to size up his man and pull right over the top. A lot of what he does comes from the threat of his outside shot and ability to hit while tightly covered, and that ended up opening some lanes to the hoop too, helping him make plays from the paint both scoring and passing.

He’s a knockdown shooter with size that makes it hard to contest, and he’s also shown some flashes of being that defensive rim presence with his ability to trail plays or pop over from the help side and send shots flying off the backboard. But King will have to find a way to elevate his team this season and lift them over the hump by coming through in big games and big moments. He and his team have the talent to do so, so keep an eye on the lanky shooting guard this winter.

King made one of the biggest moves in this update and it’s not hard to see why. He’s a 6’7 shooting guard with enormous potential. He already has a great stroke from outside, mid-range, and can use his length to finish at the rim. But he’s also starting to show impact in other areas, utilizing his length on the defensive end, blocking shots at the rim and swarming defenders on the perimeter.
