Dayne Cardoza
About Dayne
Expert Analysis

Dayne is a quick guard who handles the ball at an elite level. His first step is dangerous as he can easily fly by defenders if they aren’t always on their toes. Cardoza uses both hands just as effectively when getting to the rim and has great shiftiness on the court. He steps up in big moments when his team needs him and was excellent all summer long for NW Drip .

Cardoza not only showed up for his 16U team, but also got some big minutes with the BDH Elite 17U. He stepped up to the moment, sinking clutch shots from behind the arc against the Colorado Roughriders 2024 National squad, and handling pressure on-ball with relative ease while keeping the offense going. He showed great toughness against a much bigger team, conquering the mental side of playing the point.

Dayne last year as a freshman was extremely impressive, especially playing in the Metro League. Dayne has a ton of potential and showed that last year on the court as a freshman. He got a good amount of playing time, being able to show off his abilities. He’s an excellent shooter, being able to hit the three off of catch and shoots with ease or pulling up if the defense leaves him open. He does a great job finding his open teammates in transition and when he’s driving the ball. Cardoza is poised to have a bigger role in the offense this year with Ingraham HS.

The 5-foot-11 shifty PG had some moments this weekend. Cardoza has a nice bag of dribble moves that he uses to break down defenders one-on-one or in P&R scenarios. He has a quick first step and he loves to pull up in the mid-range or take it all the way into the paint. He’ll seemingly be Ingraham’s go-to guy as a sophomore, and don’t be surprised if he’s on more radars as the season progresses.
