Marcus Johnson Garfield Heights (Wildcat Select 3SSB 15U)
Johnson technically is a 2026, but played up a level with Wildcat Select. The lefty guard is the son of Garfield Heights coach and former Mr. Basketball Sonny Johnson. Marcus has a tight handle already for a freshman and really handled the ball so well against older competition. His step back jumper was tough to defend and contest due to the separation he created with his quick handle. Has an unorthodox shot currently, but is looking early on like one of Ohio’s top incoming freshmen.
Ryan Montgomery Ryan Montgomery 6'5" | PF Findlay | 2025 State OH Findlay (Ohio Buckets-Christie)
Montgomery didn’t have the greatest game against a 3SSB team, but his intangibles are what caught my eye even if his team struggled. Montgomery has a solid frame already for a sophomore at 6-foot-4 and understands how to use his body with the ball in his hands. Needs about 1-2 dribbles to find the lane and finish. Made several hustle plays throughout the game and showed a lot of heart while he competed.
Dorian Jones Dorian Jones 6'4" | SG Richmond Heights | 2025 State #61 Nation OH Richmond Heights (All Ohio-Red)
Jones is one of the springier prospects I saw in the 2025 class. His leaping ability is quite impressive and combined with elite scoring off the bounce, Jones is a deadly matchup on the perimeter. When you take into account his length at 6-foot-4, Jones has D1 potential written all over with his athleticism. Plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor.
Arness Lawson Arness Lawson 6'1" | PG Pickerington North | 2025 State #306 Nation OH Pickerington North (All Ohio-Red)
Lawson brought some two-way potential for AOR as he contributed on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Lawson can create with the dribble and speed. Very quick off the bounce and especially dangerous in the open court in transition. Defensively, he sits down and defends on the perimeter. Moves laterally and keeps his guy in front of him. Lawson already has attracted some D1 attention as a freshman and is bound to continue adding interest especially at the LM level.
Kieran Granville-Britten Kieran Granville-Britten 6'7" | C Princeton | 2025 State OH Taft (Bates Fundamentals)
Granville-Britten and his Bates team were playing up a level on the 16U circuit this weekend. Even though they lost to a good Nova Village team, I felt Granville-Britten showed a lot of upside. Right off the bat, you catch his stout shoulders and upper body, along with his 6-foot-9 frame. Physically imposing for a sophomore and showed signs of being a good rim protector.
Trey Perry Trey Perry 6'1" | PG Lakota East | 2025 State OH Lakota East (Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 16U)
Perry is a lot like Arness Lawson Arness Lawson 6'1" | PG Pickerington North | 2025 State #306 Nation OH with his two-way ability. The difference between the 2 besides where they play? Perry was playing up a level at the 16U game. Perry’s defensive tenacity likely stems from being part of a defensive minded program like Lakota East. Moves side-to-side and covers plenty of ground. Comfortable in an open court setting and getting the ball out in transition. Really like his upside and potential playing up.
