District 44 Champion Madison Southern

Fredrick Douglass - Freshman Guard, [player_tooltip player_id="1344607" first="Armelo" last="Boone"]

Boone is a confident playmaker that has radically improved over the course of the season. Boone is part of a talented and deep roster at Douglass. He has the gift to score and rarely settles for a poor shot. He connected on multiple clutch shots when the Broncos needed offense to keep up with Madison Southern.

Frederick Douglass - Junior Forward, [player_tooltip player_id="801613" first="Tyson" last="Barrett"] (PH Ranking #11)

Barrett is a match-up problem for most teams in the 11th region. His ability to play “positionless” basketball gives him freedom on the court to make an impact. Although he was limited by foul trouble and slow pace, he still created a lot of scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.

Madison Southern - Sophomore Guard, [player_tooltip player_id="1126557" first="Jay" last="Rose"] (PH Ranking #20)

Rose was one of the surprises of the 11th region this year. He definitely helped validate his place among the All-Region team with his strong postseason play. Rose is a scoring guard that fights for his points. Despite shouldering much of the playmaking burden, he rarely settles for a contested or out-of-rhythm jump shot. He fights for rebounds on both ends and works hard on defense. That is a skill that will translate everywhere Rose plays.

Madison Southern - Sophomore Guard, Braden Hudson (Unranked in PH)

Hudson is another sophomore that showcased his playmaking acumen in this game. He led the Eagles with a strong first half and carried that into the rest of the game. Hudson was impressive off the ball and constantly moving around. He finished with a team-high 10 rebounds.
