Indiana Stack 17u ended up letting one slip away on Saturday morning, but Garner really impressed with his wide-ranging offensive skill set. The 6’8″ forward is so comfortable out on the perimeter and has a very smooth, repeatable shooting stroke out to three-point range. However, he also has the necessary size to finish inside and doesn’t shy away from contact. Garner, a rising junior at Pike High School, recently picked up a Division II offer and should continue to see the scholarship offers roll in heading into the high school season.

There is new kid on the block at Pike High School and he is extremely impressive. One of the bigger surprises of the weekend came from wanting Pike and their new forward Vanden Garner Vanden Garner 6'9" | SF Pike | 2027 IN . Transferring back to the state of Indiana after spending some time at OTE, Garner is a big time addition to an already loaded Pike team. He adds more versatility to them as a guy that can play inside-and-out.

A former Indianapolis Homeschool kid, Garner is back in the state and is MUCH improved. He’s really worked on his body and is now a skilled 6’8” stretch forward. The shot looks really clean from beyond the arc. The size and raw talent was always there when he was younger, but now the skill and strength appears to have caught up. He should step in and play a big role in the forecourt for Pike High School as a rising junior. Definitely a prospect to watch in 2028 now.

Garner is a very intriguing prospect. He plays outside of the IHSAA with the Indianapolis Homeschool Wildcats which will inevitably keep him a bit under-the-radar. However, we had the opportunity to see him play at the Bob Wettig Memorial Tournament in Richmond and he is a very good player. He has the obvious size at 6’7″-6’8″, but the skill that comes along with it is why he debuts inside of our Top 75. Garner averaged 18.9 points and 7.7 rebounds while shooting 34-96 from three-point range.

There is nothing quite like Indiana High School Basketball. However, there are some very talented prospects that compete outside of the tradition realm of the IHSAA as well. In the Class of 2027, this 6’6″ forward is one of the top homeschool prospects in the state. Garner has impressive face-up ability at his size, can dominate a mismatch around the basket, and has grown into one of the more intriguing stretch 4’s in the class. He is averaging 18.9 points per game for the Indianapolis Homeschool Wildcats.
