EG10 16u had an excellent time out in South Carolina advancing to the 16u Adidas Gold East Championship before falling to West Michigan Premier. This group is led by their backcourt and Woods was certainly among the stars. He shot the ball well from beyond the arc, served as the primary ball handler most of the time, and was very comfortable as a playmaker (for himself and his teammates) while playing against a high-level of competition. The backcourt is crowded at Pike High School but don’t be surprised to see Woods earn himself some minutes heading into his junior season.

There is a lot of talent on the EG10 2027 team and they proved it once again over the holiday weekend going 5-0 to win the Prep Hoops Indiana State Tournament. It was a relatively balanced attack with several standouts from game-to-game, but Woods was a consistent scoring averaging just over 10 points per game which included a game on Saturday afternoon where he connected on seven three-point shots while scoring 23 points. Woods can get hot in a hurry from beyond the arc and what he showed on Saturday certainly has been seen at other times throughout the spring on the Prep Hoops Circuit.

Coach Jeff Teague has a good stable of young talent at Pike High School. Woods, a 5’8″ guard, played his way into consistent varsity action finishing the season averaging 3.6 points per game. He is very quick off of the bounce, displays good court vision, and can be pesky as an on-ball defender.
