— and for good reason.
Tomlin poured in 39 points, including 17 made free throws, constantly putting pressure on the rim and forcing contact.
He is the heartbeat of this team.
Tomlin is a legit Division I prospect and one of the premier shot makers in the state. He scores from all three levels, thrives in transition, and is extremely crafty with the ball in his hands. His change of pace is elite at the high school level. Defenders struggle to stay attached when he shifts gears.
He’s tough to guard because he can:
- Create space off the bounce
- Absorb contact and finish
- Pull up confidently
- Get to the line at a high rate
Even on a night where Benedictine focused heavily on limiting his touches, Tomlin was made to work for everything. Yet, he still found a way to nearly carry his team across the finish line.
That’s what elite players do.

The athletic, attacking wing is a true three-level scorer who thrives in transition, gets downhill to pressure the rim, and has the touch to knock down perimeter shots. He showed confidence creating his own offense and consistently found ways to put pressure on the defense throughout the game.

-Back to back 40-ball scoring performances for a prospect that should be the best player for JM this year with a new HC in place. Tomlin used his quickness to jump passes lanes and race to the other end of the floor to finish with emphatic dunks above the rim. Tomlin seems to be taking a more simplistic approach to scoring this season as a dynamic slasher that is also capable of knocking down open C+S looks from the perimeter. His raw athleticism really shone bright as he dominated the competition in the open court as both a passer on the ball or a wing scorer running to the corners. Would like to see his handle continue to improve in the halfcourt to take advantage of the back foot burst/long strides to make him an even more effective slasher.

-One of the most explosive athletes in the area, Tomlin showed that he is eager to have a productive summer with Team Loaded. He uses the instincts from the gridiron to jump passing lanes exceptionally well and has the physicality and speed to beat his opponent to their spot to force a dribble pickup or a bad shot. He spent the afternoon collecting long rebounds and steals before switching ends quickly to detonate above the rim for two at the other end of the floor.

Troy is a dominant force with his combination of size, athleticism, and relentless activity. He plays above the rim, effectively guards multiple positions, and uses his strength and basketball IQ to make an impact on both ends. Troy moves well without the ball and excels at turning defense into offense, creating opportunities for his team through his energy and versatility. The improvement in Troy’s game will come when he shows he can play in a structured half-court setting. He is playing for the Team Loaded 16 3SSB team.
