About Christian
Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The 4A State Player of the Year, who led Handley to its first-ever state championship this season, is planning a post-grad year at Fork Union and should draw significant attention from college coaches this offseason. Dinges brings a unique combination of size, strength, athleticism, and skill to the floor. He is a versatile three-level scorer, can serve as a secondary ball handler, and contributes on the glass, making him a well rounded and intriguing prospect.

put on a show for John Handley. Christian was a true matchup nightmare for Hidden Valley, showcasing his versatility as a scorer. Early in the game, Christian did a great job creating for himself on the perimeter. He got to the rim multiple times and hit a few threes off the dribble. As the game wore on, Christian went from playing as more of a guard to playing off the ball and using size to be more of a wing/big. He did some work out of the post and had a nice seal to get a tough bucket. Christian did great finishing through contact, and he had back-to-back plays starting with a put-back dunk, then a back-door cut he turned into an alley-oop the next time down, which felt like the dagger. Besides a few sloppy turnovers late, he was fantastic.

Christian impresses with his balanced skill set, easily shifting between playing inside and outside. His solid all-around game makes him a reliable asset for his team. Christian also impressed this summer showing he could create off the dribble, get downhill to finish at the rim with authority or knockdown the perimeter jumper. I am really impressed with Christian ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.

. Not many players can do what Christian does in terms of defensive playmaking. Christian had a few fantastic finishes today, and I love how he uses his frame to finish through contact. Christian was efficient, and he constantly got to the line. Christian averaged a highly efficient 22 PPG and 6.5 RPG in a 2-0 John Handley day.

was brilliant for John Handley today. Christian is a fantastic and opportunistic defender who turns his defense into points well. Christian is strong and does a good job finishing in the paint through defenders. Christian knocked down a few threes today, and I think he could be an impactful two-guard at the next level. Christian had 25 points in a win over St. Mary’s Annapolis on 1 missed shot, then had 16 in another game he only missed only 1 shot.

Dinges has great instincts whenever he is on the floor and is a constant ball hawk. He showed that he can find the rim in a plethora of ways. Dinges has a good skillset turning defense to offense. Dinges finished through contact often. He has great control of his body and doesn’t get sped up. His ability to rebound and get 2nd chance scoring efforts was impressive. Dinges is kinda stuck in between a few positions but think he will end up between a two and a three in college. He is someone who should see heavy foot traction from LM programs.
