About Trae
Expert Analysis

Trae is one of the best athletes in the class and recently earned his first D1 offer as Alcorn State offered him this month. Cayson has had a modest high school career at Douglass but it’s all about playing well at the right time and it appears Trae has done exactly that. On the heels of that first offer, Cayson goes from 78th overall up to 53rd and could continue trending up this Summer.

Cayson is super athletic and went viral last season for a huge dunk in a JV game. As a Sophomore, Trae needs to be ready to contribute for a Douglass team that badly needs more bench help. The roster is full of athletic guards and Cayson can thrive in an up and down system where he’s allowed to press and play in the open court. For Douglass to get back to Rupp, Cayson needs to help off the bench.

One of the best athletes in the state, regardless of class. Cayson had a dunk that went viral during the season and has the physical tools to be an absolute lock down defender. His position could end up being more of a combo or point guard depending on how he grows and his game develops.

Cayson has been slowed by injury this season but still has a ton of potential and will be another weapon for a young and explosive Douglass team when he gets back on the court. Trae is bouncy and long and shows flashes of being an elite defender and big time two way player for the Broncos.

Staying in Lexington, Trae is a big time prospect in terms of upside with his length and athleticism. Cayson is a menace on defense with his ability to play the passing lanes and create deflections and steals. While his skill level still needs to improve, Cayson has the physical traits to be a lockdown defender and a nice slasher off the wing.

Cayson was a bad miss on the list. Long and athletic, Trae should see the floor early and often for the Broncos this season. As an 8th grader, Cayson was one of the best in Lexington playing up on the freshman level and should be one to track for the next 4 years.
