Without a doubt, Nate is my biggest “sleeper” in this class. A bouncy athlete with great size, I think Coen would be more widely regarded if he were a 2027 prospect. He’s super young for the class and would be a good candidate for a prep year. If he stays in the class of 2026, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nate went the junior college route and emerged as a D1 target in a year or two.

I’ve been an advocate for Coen for years now and he’s one of the only players in this class that I would actually advocate to take a prep year as a post grad. An explosive athlete, I think Nate could be the X factor in the race for the 11th region title this season.

One of my favorite sleeper prospects in the state, Nate moves up from 55th to 32nd in this round of updates. He’s likely to get significant playing time for a Douglass team that has plans to get to Rupp Arena in March. Coen is long and athletic with the ability to play above the rim consistently. Nate has also shown the ability to be a good rim protector on the defensive end and will be an even better prospect when he bulks up and gets better at absorbing contact around the rim.

Another Senior who has waited for his turn, Nate could be the biggest X factor in the 11th region this season. Coen is very athletic and provides some rim protection and rebounding on defense. On the offensive end of the court, Nate is continuing to find his footing as a wing who is being forced to play as a big. He can shoot a little bit or finish off the bounce. Certainly a name for NAIA and D2 schools to monitor.

One of the more naturally talented wing forwards in Kentucky’s 2026 class, Coen showed incredible upside as he was playing above the rim all weekend with some crazy dunks. Able to attack off the dribble in a straight line and finish with his left, Coen is a tough cover for slower footed forwards on the perimeter. Coen also flashed shot-making ability from 3-point range and averaged over a double-double this weekend according to his twitter. Defensively, Coen made an impact as a help-side rim protector, showing how his length and athleticism can be used on both ends of the court. I expect Coen to be one of the biggest risers this summer as his production is catching up to the natural ability he possesses.

One of the biggest X Factors in Lexington, Nate checks a lot of boxes that coaches are looking for in a prospect. Coen has legitimate size and is capable of playing above the rim. The biggest thing for Nate is going to be opportunity. It has seemed like he’s been snake bitten at times as every time he starts to get some momentum, the injury bug strikes. Look for Nate to be a big time difference maker for both Ky Future Elite and Douglass if he stays healthy and starts to reach his prospect ceiling.

If ratings were strictly based on potential, Nate could be a top 10 talent. As it stands, Coen moves up 10 spots from 40 to 30 and is trending upward. Nate is long and athletic and has finally started to add some bulk to his frame. He plays hard and is not getting bullied like he was for the last year or so. Long term, Coen is a stock you want to invest in!

Coen is long and athletic and that was on full display at camp. Nate was playing above the rim and showed some improved ball handling. I haven’t seen Nate shoot the ball at a high level consistently and that’s the missing link to his game right now. Along with hitting the weight room hard.

One of the biggest risers in this update, Coen has really impressed me with his long term potential and athleticism. In this update, Nate moved from 119th to 42nd overall and could be on the cusp of a big Junior season for the Broncos. Coen had one of the best highlights I saw this summer with an explosive dunk at Lexington Catholic and that just showed the potential long term upside that Nate possesses.

A major stock-riser in Kentucky’s Class of 2026 during the month of June, Coen continued his strong play with KY Future Elite 16u at the Grit Region Finals where he was named an All-Tournament performer. At 6’7″, Coen has excellent length and athletic tools which he pairs with some ability off of the dribble to attack closeouts and play above the rim in transition. Look for Coen to have a breakout junior season at Fredrick Douglass and play his way onto the radar of college programs at all levels. Very high-upside prospect.
