McCormick has really done a great job this spring/summer at balancing his scoring and playmaking on a team surrounded by other high level talent while shooting with incredible efficiency from beyond the arc. McCormick’s feel for the game leads to the success of not only himself but his teammates. He does a great job getting the ball where it needs to go, putting his teammates in great spots to showcase their respective strengths. McCormick can really shoot it off the catch, making him a viable threat even when the ball isn’t in his hands. Defensively, McCormick can slide his feet and stay in front of the opposition with consistency as well as being a great communicator at that end of the floor.

McCormick was incredibly productive and will rise in the 2028 rankings in the process for Game Elite 16u 3SSB this past weekend, guiding them to a 3-1 record in the process. McCormick averaged 16.8 Points, 2.0 Rebounds, and 2.5 Assists per game on 50/52/82 shooting splits. The remarkably high levels of efficiency were super impressive for McCormick to achieve throughout the weekend vs this level of competition. He can play on or off the ball and is a great perimeter shooter. McCormick can help run the team, push the pace in transition, and be that safety valve to make something happen when the offense is sputtering. A super strong performance with McCormick who looks to be settling into his new team like a glove through the first session.

McCormick is a steady PG with the ability to heat up from distance and he is looking to show that with his new travel club down in Atlanta as he’s joined Game Elite 3SSB 16u this season. Coming off a year at Davidson Day where he played in both backcourt spots and provided his team with a really viable scoring and playmaking option as an underclassmen. He recently received a division one offer from McNeese State and is looking to continue to build his status in the 2028 class. McCormick can make threes off the dribble or catch, he makes great reads in ball screen situations, and really does a nice job sliding his feet to stay in front of the opposition on the defensive end of the floor. He had strong start to the travel season at the On The Radar x HoopSeen Main Event this past weekend and is looking to really build upon that with 3SSB sessions approaching in the coming weeks.

Having seen a strong game of his at DeMatha during June’s DMV Live event, it was nice to get a followup viewing of the Cox Mill (NC) transfer as he settles into his new situation. Playing alongside a trio of 6’10″+ high-major prospects, McCormick dealt with a somewhat clogged paint at times but impressed with his ability to adjust accordingly and score from the perimeter. McCormick knocked down a 3 shots from long range en route to a team-high 15 points, also flashing a shifty handle to get himself downhill and put pressure on the paint. Despite being on the smaller side, his shotmaking and level of overall production at this stage should have him on D1 radars moving forward.

McCormick delivered a really high level performance in the win vs TBS and was a real catalyst for his team in that win. McCormick finished with 16 Points, 3 Rebounds, and 4 Assists with only 1 turnover. He was 5-11 from the floor, 4-6 from deep, and 2-2 from the line. His steadiness, shot-making, and poise allow him to be comfortable regardless of situation. McCormick is a great shooter off the catch, very comfortable in ball screens, and is a real connector on the offensive end of the floor. He and Nick Arnold Nick Arnold 6'0" | PG Davidson Day | 2026 State NC compliment one another very well in the Davidson Day backcourt, as they continue to get more time together, they’ll be primed to help lead Davidson Day on a deep playoff run. For only a Sophomore, McCormick’s skill and poise are quite advanced. He’ll be a big time player in NC for years to come.

McCormick continues to run the show at Davidson Day balancing his own scoring while making sure the love gets spread around. Sharing a backcourt with veteran Nick Arnold Nick Arnold 6'0" | PG Davidson Day | 2026 State NC has been great for McCormick, allowing him to play next to another creator, giving his catch and shoot game room to shine along with his play making. McCormick will end up being about as battle tested as you can ask by the end of his career with his experience between travel and high school ball. He’s got great touch from distance, an understanding of how to manage a game, and the competitive fire to make big plays when your team needs them most.

McCormick is quite the playmaking presence in the Cox Mill backcourt to get to know. He checks in at No. 21 overall and the No. 5 combo guard in the 2028 rankings debut, averaging 16.3 points, 2.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds per contest in 2024-25. He’s a shifty presence at 5-foot-11 who’s shown he can fill it up in a hurry around quite a talented young core. Look for him to really blossom this spring/summer as he continues to build his resume in the class.
