The 2028 class in North Carolina is one of the most talented stacked groups that I've seen since I've been around the game here in the HoopState since 2012. There is a true surplus of high major players at the top along with great depth that is still being uncovered making this State a hotbed for talent of all levels once again. We'll have a bunch of rankings coverage but on this addition we'll be looking at some of the top risers in the class.

Jamison made a huge jump after rising over 50 spots to his current ranking at 18 and he might not be done. Jamison's physical gifts have steadily progressed but he's really evolved into more of a Point Guard making him a truly versatile backcourt piece that produces efficiently with consistently. He took some lumps playing the point over the course of the HS season but stayed the course and grew into a really complete backcourt player and that has shined for [program_tooltip program_id='2227286' first='Team' last='Loaded South'] 16u this spring/summer. Jamison can really make outside shots, break defenders down off the bounce, and help run an offense at a high level. The steady development of his overall game has been fun to track and I don't see it stopping anytime soon.

Pace went from a watchlist guy to being on the fringes of the top 50 and that's largely due to his improved outside touch blending with his motor and athleticism, showing that he's a prospect worth monitoring closely in this stacked 2028 class. Pace plays with great energy, is constantly around the basketball, all while possessing the ability to heat up from deep and swing a game. He's a primary source of offense for this [program_tooltip program_id='2849876' first='Team' last='Global Select'] group and is lining himself up for a monster junior season at Eastern Guilford. Pace is a bonafide next level prospect and as a wing with physical gifts, an elite motor, and legit outside touch, he'll start to garner some recruiting attention really soon.

Dalton is a strong big man at Forsyth Country Day and with [program_tooltip program_id='2078500' first='Garner' last='Road'] 16u 3SSB that provides consistent production while showing flashes of outside touch and defensive versatility. Dalton finishes strong at and above the rim with regularity. He's got an array of moves on the low block where he's capable of being very efficient. He can knock down shots in the mid-range and sets great screens to free teammates up. As Dalton continues to progress, he will continue to learn how to play defense with a physical element without fouling. He's a very useful front-court player that has consistently contributed on winning teams in an efficient manner.

McCormick has really done a great job this spring/summer at balancing his scoring and playmaking on a team surrounded by other high level talent while shooting with incredible efficiency from beyond the arc. McCormick's feel for the game leads to the success of not only himself but his teammates. He does a great job getting the ball where it needs to go, putting his teammates in great spots to showcase their respective strengths. McCormick can really shoot it off the catch, making him a viable threat even when the ball isn't in his hands. Defensively, McCormick can slide his feet and stay in front of the opposition with consistency as well as being a great communicator at that end of the floor.

Lail went from being a watchlist guy to cracking into the top 90 of this loaded class with his ability to make shots from the outside and really compete at a high level all over the floor. Lail is comfortable operating on the ball, especially in ball screen situations where he has great feel and makes proper reads at a high rate of frequency. Lail has a quick release off the catch and is capable of making shots on the move or while contested. He also can attack a closeout and make a play at the rim for himself or kick it out to another shooter after recognizing the help collapsing in. Look for Lail to potentially continue rising in this stacked 2028 class in NC.

Lewis finds himself amongst the ranked after being on the watchlist and that's due to his consistent production with both Draughn HS and [program_tooltip program_id='3584116' first='Dreamerz' last='Academy'] during the travel ball season thus far. Lewis is a smooth and consistent combo guard that is wired to score the ball. He's got a smooth mid range pull up game with the ability to extend that range beyond the arc off the catch. He can finish in traffic inside, especially with his strong hand, and is starting to get bigger/stronger as he develops. That physical development will really help Lewis get stronger on the defensive end of the floor. Lewis is a WNC guard to watch closely in the 2028 class.
