About Sam
Expert Analysis
Michael Herrick | Prep Hoops Scout
Fait brought tremendous energy and instant offense. Sam had several stretches where he completely changed momentum with his athleticism, transition play, and ability to score in bursts. He embraced tough defensive assignments, competed hard on every possession, and played with a high motor all weekend. What stood out most was his willingness to impact winning however needed, whether it was rebounding, defending, running the floor, or giving the team a scoring punch off momentum plays.

Fait was instant offense for 24: Up as he came off the bench to score 12 of his 14 points in the first half, helping 24: Up to a 46-41 lead at intermission. Fait had a catch-and-shoot triple, scored three times with his length on drives to the basket, and used his aggressiveness and bounce to earn trips to the foul line. There is not question Fait can score, and his length and anticipation on defense led to some deflections for his team.

A prolific scoring wing with bounce and skill, Fait came off the bench for 24: UP and provided 12 big points as his squad broke away from a 40-40 deadlock to a 64-51 victory over Pro Lane Walz. Fait’s baseline triple late in the game helped 24: UP seal its win as it put his team in front by double digits with just under three minutes left. Fait also had a steal and reverse dunk down the stretch. Fait’s development over the past 12 months with 24: UP under coach Scott Cook and with Catholic Central under coach Dan Meddaugh has been impressive as he has set up himself well to be noticed by college coaches over the next several months.

Playing at a smaller school Sam may not get the recognition of some other players in his class, but consistently goes out and produces each game. In a one point loss against Messmer Sam put up a game high 33 points, showing some explosiveness in the open floor, the body control to finish through contact, and the shooting touch to drain pull-up jumpers from three. Sam has good size out on the wing at 6’4, with the athleticism and length to defend a number of spots. Also showed the impressive vision at times, including a number of long outlet passes fired up the floor leading to easy looks for his teammates.
