Nicolet’s depth keeps getting deeper, and with the emergence of Jayden Phillips Jayden Phillips 5'11" | CG Racine St Catherines | 2027 State WI , their backcourt looks that much more dangerous heading into the 2025-26 season. Jayden came in off the bench in the game I watched, and immediately started to go to work off the dribble. Defenders couldn’t contain him as an isolation scorer, and were commonly having to rely on help-side defenders. Once that started happening, Jayden showed he has the vision to locate the open man with a well-timed pass leading to plenty of easy looks for his teammates. He averaged 2.7 points per game last winter but looks reday to step into a bigger role as a junior.

We will be the first to admit we have Phillips ranked too low in the 2027 class. It’s hard to get a great read on every player in the state, but there is no question Phillips ranks among the better juniors in Wisconsin. His smooth game includes the ability to score on all three levels, almost with ease. He drilled four triples and also scored at the rim for Team 6 in its outing against Team 7. He is a key member of a Nicolet squad that is looking to make some big noise this winter, both in the North Shore Conference and on the WIAA Division 2 state level. Look for Phillips to have a breakout season for the Knights in 2025-26.
