Bol impressed with his offensive versatility, showing the ability to impact the game both inside and on the perimeter. He scored in a variety of ways, spacing the floor as a shooter while also finding success around the basket and in the paint. Bol was able to get to different spots off the bounce, demonstrating a skill set that is uncommon for a player with his size and length. What stood out most was his feel for the game. He consistently read and reacted to what the defense gave him, making smart decisions and finding teammates with difficult passes to moving cutters. Bol stuffed the stat sheet throughout the contest, contributing in multiple facets and affecting the game well beyond just scoring. His ability to create matchup problems makes him the epitome of a mismatch nightmare, as he can punish defenders both inside and out. Defensively, Bol looked comfortable switching onto perimeter players and holding his own away from the basket, which only adds to his value in today’s game. His combination of size, skill, versatility, and basketball IQ makes him an extremely intriguing prospect. If he continues to perform at this level, he should see a slew of college coaches become involved in his recruitment as programs search for players with his unique blend of tools and production. 

Maker Bol shot the ball better than I’ve seen this weekend and proved that he can be a consistent threat from the outside. The 6-foot-9 wing showed off his big-time athleticism on the break on a number of occasions, but I was mostly impressed with his ability to set his feet and get his shot off, even with contests from big and long players. Defensively, Maker Bol deters shots at the rim with his size, length, and athleticism but is also switchable on the perimeter when it comes to staying with quick guards. The sky is the limit for him, especially if he shoots it really well from three this year with CATS.

Bol Meen has a chance to be the best player on CATS Academy this season. Yes, I said it. The 6-foot-9 forward has incredible length, size, and athleticism and combines these physical tools with an exceptional skill set. He has a beautiful shot from the three point line, and he’s a really solid ball handler with the agility and change-or-direction necessary to handle it against smaller wings. He also has good passing vision and unselfishness. The junior probably has some more physical development to undergo, but he should be one of the most highly sought after prospects on this CATS squad, especially if he can limit his over dribbling.
