Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
The smooth-shooting forward enjoyed a breakout scholastic period, putting together multiple games in which he connected on several three-pointers and showcased his ability to stretch the floor. His shooting touch makes him a dangerous weapon from the perimeter, and he continues to grow more confident in that role. Defensively, his length is a major asset, making it difficult for opponents to complete passes and reducing the time and space available for shooters to get clean looks off. I would like to see him stay home a bit more on defense and avoid biting on ball fakes, as that will allow him to maximize his defensive impact. Offensively, he also showed good awareness by feeding the post and making the right reads from the perimeter. With his combination of size, shooting ability, and upside, he is a prospect whose stock should continue to rise as he develops. Should be priority at the LM+/MM- level.

Clement, a rising senior at CATS Academy in Massachusetts, has a chance to be the biggest riser coming out of the showcase this weekend after picking up his first Division I offer, from Holy Cross, just a few weeks ago. The buzzwords with the 6’9″ forward are skill, length, and potential. While he has a lean frame, he’s incredibly long and doesn’t back down in the paint. He pulls opposing defenders away from the rim as a shooter and shows the ability to put the ball on the floor from the perimeter. Defensively, he’s really impressed lately with his ability to block and alter shots around the rim, using his length and budding athleticism to make life difficult for opponents in the paint. Clement had a terrific first day in Worcester, knocking down 7 threes, and could also have been featured in our “Familiar Faces, New Places” article, after announcing his transfer to CATS just a few days ago!

He continues to develop over time and made a statement with his play. He was a threat play above the rim in the open floor in transition. I liked how he was able to run the floor as a trailer and then exploited a hole in the defense by penetrating the rim. His beanstalk like legs allow him to take gigantic steps when he is on the move. Clement made several three pointers in the game I saw and when he is a groove it is scary. He is effective doubling the ball as a trapper and makes it really hard on smaller guards to launch passes over him. Unsure how much weight he will be able to hold onto his frame and want to see him hold his ground more when around traffic inside. Clement could be a tad more active on the glass.

Clement is one of the most intriguing forwards in New England and has continued to raise his stock to start this AAU season. In an early season matchup against BABC, he was the best player on the floor and dominated the game on both ends—with rim protection defensively and outside shooting and finishing offensively. He has been the anchor for a BCRI squad that has and will continue to turn heads into this spring; they’re one of the better non-shoe teams and play wonderful basketball, party because of the vertical and horizontal space on the floor that Clement creates with his lob and shooting ability. Clement should keep trying to put on weight and strength if he wants to play D1 hoops, but he has time to do so.

Uses his length to impact shots and has a mile long reach to go up and get shots. Clement connected on shots from deep and if he gets into his groove from there it can be scary. Like how he showed instincts to roll to the rim and got rewarded by having scoring opportunities around there. He also found ways to connect on tough passes and find others in different spots on the floor. Like how he moves without the ball in his hands. Showed he can operate out of the mid-post and score the basketball. Saw some flashes of him guarding guards on the perimeter. Want to see him improve on getting stronger so he can finish more consistently in and around traffic.

Clement was unbelievable for BCRI this weekend. In their first game against BABC, he was a key part of his squad’s ability to stay in the game and keep it close all the way until the end. He hit a bunch of threes—and his shot looks as smooth and fluid as ever—but he also made the defense pay if they overplayed him on the perimeter. On multiple occasions, he up-faked and then drove long close outs for dunks and finishes at the rim. He uses his length unbelievably well, and he has some budding athleticism that will be even more daunting once he puts some more weight on. This could be a season of massive growth for Clement, who’s playing with a BCRI team that moves the ball extremely well and will give him an opportunity to shine in their explosive offensive system.

I’ve never seen Clement shoot like he did on Sunday. The 6-foot-9 forward hit shots on the move and in spot-up situations, many of which were well beyond the line and with a decent contest. He continuously hit shots when St. Mark’s needed them most, and he also took advantage of some closeouts once the defense started overplaying his shot. Clement also stuffed the stat sheet with rebounds on both ends, many of which come easy to him because of his size and length. Clement will be a very key returner for a St. Mark’s team that will have a chance to repeat next season.

Clement, a junior forward out of the St. Mark’s School in Massachusetts, has seemingly improved week by week in his first year of play in the NEPSAC. St. Mark’s has an 11-1 record in Class B games, good for 2nd in the standings, and has gotten terrific production on both ends of the floor out of their big man. Clement is a lean, 6’9″ forward that has the ability to stretch defenses with his shooting from the perimeter. He’s getting more confident as a paint scorer and has the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim from the perimeter. Defensively, with impressive length, he’s a talented shot blocker that really does a good job of protecting the basket for his team. Clement will be on scholarship watch this spring and summer as a member of the Class of 2027.

Clement, a junior forward out of the St. Mark’s School, has made an immediate impact in his first season at the prep level. The 6’8″ forward recently averaged 22 points per game during his team’s 2-0 week at the Huckins Rouse Tournament. He has impressive length, shows the ability to finish with athleticism around the rim, and even has touch out to the three point line. He can make plays as a straight line driver off the bounce, can roll or pop out of ball screens, and shows the ability to clean up on the offensive glass. As he continues to add strength, his offensive game should only add more dimensions to it.

Clement has to be one of the more intriguing players in the entire region. The 6-foot-8 wing is super skinny and lanky, but he has a wiggle to his game that you rarely see for someone that size. He has some crafty finishing moves around the rim, he can make shots from the outside (though I’d like to see him get more consistent here), and he also gets putback layups and dunks simply because of his size, athleticism, and activity. Clement could look A LOT different in a couple years and I wouldn’t be surprised if scholarship schools are all over him for that exact reason. He’s impactful right now, but the potential is insane if he can put it all together and grow into his length and size.
