Soden looks even stronger than he did during the high school season — I think he has likely put on some muscle in the weight room during this offseason. He has a three level scoring game that isn’t flashy but consistently gets the job done; he can get to the rim and finish athletically with both hands, he can shoot it from the midrange, and he can shoot it from deep too. I was especially impressed with his ability to make the right play over and over, even in a showcase setting where many are taking terrible shots. He’s going to fit perfectly into a system at the D2 level, if I had to guess. If a D3 school gets him, he’ll be an absolute stud right away.

Soden is a nice do-it-all offensive player with few weaknesses. He can shoot it from the mid-range and three but also has some surprising athleticism when getting into the lane. He showcased each of those skills in Sunday’s championship game. I’m not sure where Soden will end up next year, but I think low D1 is certainly possible. If not, he’ll have an unbelievable career at the D3 or D2 level.

Soden is a really intriguing prospect that has had to step up and take on more responsibilities in the absence of Tyler Bike Tyler Bike 6'0" | PG Phillips Exeter | 2025 State New E , who was lost for the season to a shoulder injury. He’s developed as a ball-handler and now profiles as a combo guard that can handle against pressure, get an offense organized in the half-court, and make good passes in the flow of an offense. He’s an above the rim athlete that scores in transition, has a solid mid-range game, and can really knock down shots in catch and shoot situations. On top of all that, he’s a winner that makes his teammates better.

Soden is a dynamic scorer who always finds a way to be in the right spots to convert a scoring chance. He has great instincts and lets the game come to him. He does a good job moving without the ball in the flow of an offensive. Soden can be a threat from behind the arc converting shots off the catch. He has great touch around the bucket too.

I can’t figure out why Soden doesn’t have more scholarship offers. Whatever your offensive system is, he can probably fit into it quite nicely, because he does a little bit of everything offensively. He can score from literally everywhere on the floor – including far out past the three-point line – and he can also create with the dribble. But he can play off the ball, too, because of his quick release and ability to cut and decisively attack closeouts. D1 colleges should DEFINITELY be looking at Soden, and they’re making a mistake if they aren’t.

Soden is a big time athlete with very few offensive holes. He can stroke it from three – and with incredibly deep range – but he also creates for himself and has a ton of different finishing moves at the cup. His shot selection can be iffy at times, but it’s tough to dissuade a great shooter from letting it fly. As a second side creator, he attacks closeouts with decisiveness and aggression and is also a bulldozer in transition. Soden holds multiple D1 offers and is going to surprise a lot of people with his athletic ability at the next level.

Soden is a do-it-all scorer who can make plays from all three levels and stroke it from three. He’s especially impressive off the ball where he makes very quick reads and drives closeouts with great decisiveness. Soden was great in transition all day and really understands how and when to leak out for layups. He’s a scholarship level player who will fit right into most offensive schemes.

Soden, who was the 3rd highest scorer in the NHIAA this season, recently announced that he will be attending Phillips Exter Academy for a post-graduate year in the fall. A talented scoring guard, Soden is a high academic prospect that already holds a Division II offer. He’s a three-level scorer that makes good decisions in the halfcourt, particularly when it comes to getting to his scoring spots. He has good positional size, a high basketball IQ, and has done a lot of winning the past two years. He’ll be an interesting prospect to track this spring and summer and should be a key piece to any success that PEA has next season.

The NHIAA’s reigning leading scorer followed up a fantastic high school campaign by taking his game to another level in the off-season. A true shooting guard, Soden earned his first scholarship offer this summer and, so far this season, has picked up right where he left off last winter. When he’s not knocking down shots from the perimeter, there’s some craftiness to his game. His offensive is a mix of shot fakes, pivots, hesitations, and euro-steps, but he’s also shown that he can finish through contact at the rim off straight line drives. He competes defensively and most importantly, has done nothing but win basketball games over the last year plus.

The state’s top scorer (all divisions) as a Junior, Soden had a terrific spring and summer on the travel circuit with the Middlesex Magic, eventually earning his first scholarship offer from Assumption University. A first-team All-State honoree last year, Soden is one of the region’s best scorers. He has good size on the wing and has shown an evolving ability to play on or off the ball. He’s a true three-level scorer that should be a switchable defender at the next level thanks to his high IQ and solid size on the perimeter. While high academic D3’s are sure to be involved, I wouldn’t expect Assumption to be the last offer he receives this winter.
