Rodrigues has been one of the biggest stock risers of this spring/summer. The 6-foot-4 wing dominated the MIAA last season, and he looked quite comfortable in his first NEPSAC action with his new Suffield teammates late last month. Then, this past weekend, the rising senior continued to showcase his versatile, two way game. Offensively, he made threes at a solid clip and showed off his special athleticism on a number of fastbreak and putback dunks. Defensively, he’s strong-bodied and super quick, so he’s able to guard anybody you put in front of him, whether they be fast guards or plodding bigs, and he has become elite on that end of the floor with simple alterations to his game like gambling less and walling up more. Rodrigues is getting scholarship attention and has a chance to continue his excellent summer with Team Sims in Louisville this coming weekend.

Rodrigues’s game jumps off the page thanks to his impressive athleticism and ability to play above the rim. He can climb the ladder for highlight-reel finishes and brings an exciting element to the game whenever he is on the floor. Beyond his athletic tools, Rodrigues is also a threat from behind the three-point line, and when he catches fire, he is capable of becoming a true microwave scorer. He has no issues creating offense off the dribble and can generate points in a variety of ways. I also like how he consistently finds ways to secure rebounds, using his athleticism and instincts to impact the game on the glass. He makes the game look easy. Defensively, his blend of length and quickness allows him to jump passing lanes and come up with steals. With his combination of athletic ability, scoring upside, and two-way versatility, Rodrigues is a prospect I believe could burst onto the scene this summer if he continues to produce at a high level.

Rodrigues was a major bright spot for Suffield in his first weekend playing NEPSAC hoops. In one of his Saturday games, The 6-foot-4 wing shot the ball very well—he looked comfortable and confident, and the arc and rotation on his ball was very consistent. But his unique blend of athleticism, strength, and finishing ability (which is the cornerstone of his game) also translated quite well to this level. He rebounded his behind off and consistently ran the floor for easy buckets, but he also showed off some improved passing instincts and finesse in the paint, both of which will be huge for his continued success at this higher level. Defensively, he guarded all positions and did a good job staying solid at all times. Rodrigues looks primed to be an important piece for Suffield this season, and his performance this weekend has led to a bunch of scholarship schools reaching out.

Rodrigues comes from Attleboro High School where he was one of the more dominant forces in MIAA basketball. At Suffield Academy next season, the 6-foot-4 wing will have an opportunity to improve his feel for the game and outside shooting ability, both of which should help him get more scholarship looks. Rodrigues is a phenomenal vertical athlete with tons of strength, and reps at Suffield will help him quickly learn how to play at a higher level.

Shoots deep off the catch and has great hands catching in traffic. He has all the tools to become a great scorer. Defensively was as good as I have seen from anyone with 5 steals even a couple leading to fast breaks points helping to get a big lead early and a couple other tipped passes. His anticipation as a free safety was dangerous. This was the 4th time seeing Ladainian and he is ready for D3 in college now, but D2 coaches may want to track his progress as he may enter a prep year next year.

Rodrigues has a good case to be the most physically imposing player in the entire MIAA. The 6-foot-4 wing is quicker and faster than most guards, but stronger and sturdier than most bigs, and he puts it all together to be one of the best athletes you’ll see in Massachusetts public school hoops. He can handle and shoot it a bit, but he mostly dominates by keeping his line on drives and getting to the front of the rim for finishes and dunks. When he doesn’t make his first shot, he gets tons of me-bounds and goes right back up with them. Rodrigues will be a double-double machine for Attleboro this year and will be a PRIME postgrad candidate and someone who should be getting some lower level scholarship looks.

There’s a very solid chance Rodrigues is the most physically imposing player in the entire MIAA. in a game against BABC about a month ago, the 6-foot-4 wing completely dominated a bunch of D1 prospects with his strength, athleticism and toughness. He’s able to attack the boards on both ends and defend virtually anybody (both on the perimeter and in the paint), but he also has some wiggle to his offensive game and is a phenomenal above the rim finisher. His shot from the outside is coming along, too. He should be a star at Attleboro this season and would benefit a lot from an extra year to develop his shot and guard skills.

Rodrigues was a man amongst boys when his Team Sims squad faced a talented BABC 2027 team. The 6-foot-4 forward dominated the paint with his strength and athleticism by bulldozing into defenders for easy put backs and finishes on a number of occasions. He also routinely got out on the break for easy layups and dunks well above the rim while protecting the hoop on the other side of the ball. He found his three-point shooting stroke down the stretch of the game, too, which makes him an even scarier prospect if that can be consistent moving forward. Rodrigues should be on the radar of high D3 coaches because of his combination of athleticism and toughness.

Rodrigues, a talented scorer out of Attleboro, has started to string together some of his best basketball for Team Sims on the UA Rise circuit. A true, three level scorer, he has a quick release on his jump shot and has proven to be a crafty finisher around the rim. He makes good decisions off the bounce, showing solid floor vision and the ability to get to his spots in the half-court. His athleticism shines when he can get out and make plays in space. On the other end, he’s a strong rebounder and does a nice job of creating steals and deflections in passing lanes.

A double double machine in points and rebounds. Really had to step up after losing a key player on this team for the rest of the year and did so both nights I saw him play. He is smart, making the timely passes averaging 5 assists in the tournament. He can score in a variety of ways from downtown to in and around the paint. He plays end to end and side to side giving everything he has to help the team succeed.
