Johnson, a post-graduate at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, makes his first appearance in the rankings after transferring in from Texas. He was a standout at the NEPSAC Showcases this summer and will team with Cole Blackburn Cole Blackburn 6'6" | SF Worcester Academy | 2027 State New E this winter to give Worcester Academy one of the most athletic and dynamic wing tandems in the northeast. The 6’8″ wing has some wiggle off the bounce, can initiate offense from the high post and elbows, and attacks the rim as a driver or roller out of screens. He’s really good in transition, does a nice job of making plays on the offensive glass, and, defensively, is capable of guarding any position while making disruptive, game-changing plays. He’s been a big stock riser this month, picking up offers from UMass and Vermont.

Johnson had a steller performance against Newman despite his Worcester squad’s loss. The 6-foot-8 forward used his strength and athleticism to bang with opposing wings on the boards and in the paint on both ends, but he used his agility and handle to surprise opposing bigs and forwards on the perimeter. His highlight play was a throwdown dunk in transition on a Newman player, but he also showcased some more finesse finishes in traffic and a really solid handle for his size. Johnson plays extremely hard and is going to give himself a good chance to play scholarship ball if he keeps up this play.  

Kai is a polished wing and elite shooter who brings immediate value as a floor spacer. He knocks down threes with consistency, adds a smooth mid-range pull-up, and shows steady progress as a secondary playmaker. His positional size allows him to shoot over defenders and defend multiple spots effectively. Coaches can’t stop watching because he checks key boxes—shooting, size, and skill growth—making him a perfect fit for programs prioritizing spacing and versatility.

He thrives in transition, attacking the basket with power, and is an efficient finisher in the paint. Defensively, he plays with high energy, contesting shots and battling on the boards. While his outside shooting is still developing, his ability to finish through contact makes him a valuable wing prospect.
