Depell was constantly getting near the rim and finding the right pass after drawing down multiple defenders. Really set up a ton of open 3-point looks for his teammates off that penetration and displayed great poise in constricted space to pick out the right pass. Operated well in the pick-and-roll too, displaying more patience to either find the right pass or let driving lanes open up.

Depell is a pretty poised and hard-working point guard who will do whatever is needed. He played a big role with Selah throughout this past winter season, and then stepped right into another big role with Seattle Select’s 16u UAA team. He will get teammates involved, take care of the rock, and showcased some of his scrappy personality at the Battle in Seattle with his ability to sneak in and contribute on the boards. Has great vision and instincts which helped him track some longer rebounds, time his crashes, and tip out some rebounds to teammates. He does a ton of little things that help keep them going the right direction.

Depell has been a very steady and reliable point guard this spring with Seattle Select. He’s a got some sneaky quickness that’s amplified by his ability to change speeds and read defenses. And he’s a kid who always seems to play from a position of strength, whether it is playing off two around the paint or being in his stance guarding the ball. Being ready and being able to read the game allows him to get a step on defenders while attacking, and rack up deflections and steals on the other end.

Depell has displayed some impressive confidence last season, showcasing his versatility in offensive play to fill the void left by their more established scorers. He’s been a consistent presence on the court, displaying strong play, making wise decisions, and demonstrating the courage to step up in critical moments. He has improved a lot and is a fun guard to watch on the court.

Depell has played with some nice confidence with the rock this winter, showcasing an ability to do a little bit of it all offensively to supplant some of their more established scorers. He’s been a reliable figure with the ball, playing strong, making good decisions, and showing the guts to come up in big spots.
