Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Rohrbacher continues to grow and show a more and more all-around skill set that has him projected as a Division I prospect. His sharp shooting was showcased with a big game from distance to close out the first day, but he also demonstrated the control and awareness to get into good spots, consistently make the right reads, and play with some more deception, which helped him get to his spots. One of the better processors of the game I saw this weekend, and owned the best pump fake as well, getting a handful of players off their feet along the perimeter.

It was a tough two-day stretch for the Spartans with close losses to Zillah and Grandview, but Rohrbacher showed a lot of fight in their day two loss to the Hounds. Came out of the gates locked in from distance and showed the crowd one of the more automatic and buttery 3-point shots they’ll see this season. As the game got later and was still within reach for Bainbridge, he made a couple of great backcuts on high denials and was really effective at pumping defenders inside to get looks under the basket.

He did a great job early on, passing up tough shots off the catch and finding quick actions to get better shots. Passed up a few tough ones off the catch, and then either got a ball screen or worked a handoff to get cleaner looks and bury some shots outside.

Rohrbacher is a smooth shooting guard with size who operates with a pretty slick handle too. He plays balanced, does well making moves off two feet to glide around defenders, and has some strength to take contact and finish around the paint. He’s a kid who could take another big step forward physically and will lead a tough Bainbridge squad this winter.

Rohrbacher is one of the best shooters in his class but he also has a smooth handle to create space, hit a one-two dribble combo and pair it with quick footwork to make openings for his perimeter shot. He already has the size to aid his shooting and get a good look at the rim over the top of his defenders, and he’s shown he can use that size to play at his pace and shrug defenders off closer in. Look out for him this spring as he’s already picked up an offer to play at Seattle University.

Rohrbacher is a guard with some good size but he has really come on strong in the early part of the season with his long-range shooting. Against Lake Washington, Rohrbacher looked to run off screens and DHOs ready to shoot, firing away early on and hitting at a good clip. His pace coming off screens and ability to stop and pop forced defenders to work harder to meet him, and then Rohrobacher started showing some ability to create space off the dribble. He has some handle to go along with his size and shooting and should be a kid to keep tabs on who should play a big role for Bainbridge.
