The Expo: Team 9 Evals

We march on with our team-by-team evaluations from The Expo presented by Prep Hoops. Focusing on Team 9, we get to look at a well put together squad who had guys doing a little bit of it all, filling and executing their roles to make this one of the tougher squads at the showcase. Take a look at the guys filling out Team 9 and stay tuned for more evaluations as we get closer to completing our coverage of this year's expo.    Noor did a great job finding ways to get to the bucket and going hard down lanes when he saw an opening. Was pretty consistent finishing with his off hand and actually seemed to make more attacks going left, starting from the right wing, than he did with his stronger hand. Utilized some good head fakes and slight hesitations when that second defender stepped up, and was finishing strong at the rim, a couple of times going up over multiple defenders.     Loved the way Frolov played at The Expo. Was constantly engaged and involved in plays with no lag in between, and played strong with the rock through just about every phase of the game. Made quick decisions, kept then rock flowing, and showcased a great mix of downhill attacks with various footwork and strength to get inside and make plays. Just an exceptionally active and smart player who also made a bunch of key passes and plays that highlighted his toughness.     Bremerman did a nice job working quickly off his catches and getting to his attacks off of just a dribble or two. Was knocking down the outside shot, had a few smooth step back threes, and played pretty under control when he worked into the paint. Did well to get his hands in on some balls, both working on the glass and getting up into passing lanes.     Murphy was very impressive at the camp, using his big body to get up and down the floor and attack the rim in different scenarios. Showed he can play off of two and convert strong finishes through contact at the rim, but also had some great moments in space where he used different gathers and footwork to step around defenders on his drives. Was constantly getting out on the break to finish plays and also showed he can knock down some open shots from behind the arc.     Zilliax one of the most unique players at the showcase with his combination of size, shooting, and mobility. Started off his day draining some threes while the defense sagged off, then started doing some quick-hitting facilitating in transition, zipping passes through the defense to runners out ahead. Was very efficient when he could get isolated in a mid-post, get a little bump, and then rise up for the midrange jumper. Was also very impressed with his work rate to contest and block shots, and showed how he can be a factor on that end with his length around the rim.     Pace was the word of the day for Costello. Pace, playmaking, and grit really defined his performance at The Expo. He's a point man who can inject legit pace into the offense both quick in transition and navigating some ball screens in the half. Did a nice job facilitating in both areas and also showed how that quickness and burst can help him create some quick moments of separation to knock down shots away from the rim. His grit came into play on the defensive end where he worked to stay in front of defenders and got a couple of tie-ups and steals just by getting himself into great spots.     Drennan made some important glue plays that don't show up in the box score. Had several good boxouts, either pushing his man out of bounds or deep under the hoop and taking them out of the play. Made a key hustle foul in transition of one of their closer games to force a guy to the line and prevent an easy bucket. Offensively, he had a few nice moments splitting defenders and getting under control in some space in front of the rim.     Depell was constantly getting near the rim and finding the right pass after drawing down multiple defenders. Really set up a ton of open 3-point looks for his teammates off that penetration and displayed great poise in constricted space to pick out the right pass. Operated well in the pick-and-roll too, displaying more patience to either find the right pass or let driving lanes open up.
