About Hudson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a versatile, team-first player who thrives on creating momentum and energy on both ends of the court. I pride myself on being a utility player who will contribute wherever the team needs me. I play with controlled intensity and focus on making smart decisions that keep us balanced and competitive. My work ethic drives me to constantly improve all aspects of my game; lead by example.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I bring a calm, dependable presence both on and off the court. My reliability shines through in steadiness under pressure and focus on doing what's right for the whole. Easy-going and supportive are personality aspects that help me build strong relationships and positive team chemistry. While I'm approachable, I take basketball seriously and hold myself to high standards on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Basketball is my focus right now. I've made the deliberate choice to dedicate myself fully to developing as a basketball player and community member. Training year round, studying film and looking for ways to get better are my focus. I understand the value of being well-rounded and look forward to getting involved in community service and other activities in college.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've developed a calm, steady leadership style that my coaches and teammates rely on. I lead through my work ethic and consistency-I'm the player who stays late and arrives early to get extra shots up and set the tone for the team. My goal is to be a teammate who brings people together and keeps the locker room positive. Continuous improvement through increasing my game understanding and IQ.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Coming from a small town has it's challenges in terms of exposure and access to high-level competition. I haven't had the same opportunities as players from larger programs-fewer showcases, less visibility to recruiters, and limited access to year-round elite training. But I've used that as motivation. I have learned to be resourceful, self-driven and make the most of opportunities. Stay hungry!

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a program where I have the opportunity to contribute immediately while continuing to develop as a player-I haven't reached my ceiling. I would like to play for a coaching staff that's committed to player development. The right fit for me is a program that values integrity, passion, and a true desire to win-not just individual talent, but strong team ball built on trust and effort.

This spring was the first time I got to see Murphy live, and he’s a good athlete who competes around the rim. He’s got a solid frame, plays out of a strong base around the paint, and does a good job attacking and finishing at the rim. He moves well in transition, finding lanes, changing direction, and uses his body well to get through contact.
