Jermaine put on a show on Thursday night against Hiawatha. It’s rare to see any player throw down four dunks in a single game, let alone a guard, but that’s exactly what Jermaine did. A big part of that came from his off-ball instincts defensively where he can jump passing lanes like a free safety to pick up steals in bunches, and from there you’re not going to catch him from behind. Also showcased that explosive athleticism with a big time chase-down block where he sent the shot flying out to the sideline. In the half-court he hit a couple of pull-up jumpers, and was able to get into the lane for a few dump-off assists to his teammates in a win.

The play of Jermaine was one of the bright spots in a tough loss for Johnson. He came in off the bench and was immediately making an impact with his intensity on the ball defensively. He loves to get up and pressure opposing guards the length of the floor to help force mistakes and get his team out in transition. Offensively he was using his change of speed to blow by defenders and get downhill, showcasing impressive body control on a number of tough finishes in traffic. Also showcased his impressive explosiveness with a backdoor alley-oop dunk in the second half. He finished with a game high 23 points.

Thomas-Curtis has a 20 point game versus Two Rivers, had 13 in a win over Mankato East, and 19 points versus SCLA.

The 6’3 guard has been one of the most entertaining players in the state this season. He helped lead Johnson to a tough win over Irondale, making plays on both ends of the floor. Jermaine showcased his explosiveness with a transition dunk over a 6’9 defender as well as a backdoor alley-oop dunk. He added in a handful of pull-up jumpers to bolster his scoring total. Defensively he’s tough as nails on the ball, and his pressure helped force a few turnovers throughout the game. Having an impressive start to his senior year.
