Minnehaha Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='2436914' first='Kellen' last='Troup'] (6'7 Jr). The first thing that caught my eye about Kellen was his comfort with a few dribbles, with his comfort pushing the ball in quick transition off a board. I am not saying he is a point forward but to see him handle with comfort is eye opening as it can lead to other things as a versatile player/prospect. His one dribble pull-up using a ball screen and hitting from 16 feet was quite fluid and the touch looked really good. Also faced up out of the post and hit a jumper and caught and hit a jumper with feet set. The retreating block really opened eyes as it's an effort play but also an agility play at 6'7 that grabs the eye. Defensively Troup was moving his feet with ball handlers including the primary ball handler at times showing lateral agility. The potential this young man has is really high. Scholarship high. And possibly division one high. Had 33 points in this game finishing with a putback and a mid-range jumper that were clutch late.

[player_tooltip player_id='2416947' first='Ayden' last='Green'] (5'11, Jr). Green opened the game with a bank three, then he caught and hit with feet set on a kickout to his three, and he attacked and kicked to [player_tooltip player_id='2419994' first='Carter' last='Cupito'] who hit an early three, and scored a very difficult contested shot back across his body on the break. Green had 11 points in the first five minutes building a quick 16-0 lead. His burst to the rim is more than I think people realize and there is a fight to Green that I think coaches love, and a college coach will love in the future. Scored 26 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2916849' first='Mekhi' last='Abner'] (6'6, Fr). Abner was a very key part to the Redhawks jumping ahead 15-0 on Johnson and he didn't even score! It was his defense as he pushed Turner higher off the block and moved with Turner to contest, force a board and miss. We've talked about his efforts and his communication and that was fully on display.

St Paul Johnson

Colin Moore (6'0 Jr). Moore is a tough, scrappy player. I like his willingness to battle through each play, and how he uses his strength each play. His separation attack move always has the benefit of a quick strike with a skilled direction change and a leverage edge using his strong frame to get his defender on his hip to make a play.

[player_tooltip player_id='3042595' first='Jermaine' last='Thomas-Curtis'] (6'2, Sr). This athletic downhill player finds ways to finish plays in enclosed areas more than you will see from guys his size. That length just seems to find ways out of a jam to finish a play. He's about as fast as one can be getting up the court and he scored 13 last night, most of which was in contested areas around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2120509' first='Guarino' last='Kamp'] (6'2 Sr). I have always liked Kamp's demeanor. Very even in his approach and he plays point guard in both a transition way, and a set up the halfcourt way. Wiling ball mover, willing defender on a team that loves to pressure you, and Kamp can hit from the perimeter as he did several times in half two on his way to 18 points, and making the Hawks work for their win at the end.
